I also added more of the fence in front of the farm area, added a few bushes and trees on each side of the sand hills.

More tomorrow evening, I hope. I have many areas where I'm waiting for the matte medium to dry.

Great trees Tom , it all looks quite natural.

Will the hairspray hold in the long run?
I love photo's, don't we all.

Jan,

Thank you, much appreciated.

Yes, the hair spray, at least this hair spray, will hold over time. It also depends on how much you spray on. I just try to get a good even coat all around the tree.

The trees you see in the scenes below are from my old layout. They were made about 6-7 years ago and then in boxes for almost three years prior to replanting in the corners.

Very little loss of foliage.

WOW.....I did not realize how high the sand hills were.  Almost looks like a cut between the mountains.

Jim,

The photo makes them look higher than they actually are. When a loco passes in the area, the top of the loco is higher then the top of the sand hill. Optical illusion in the photo.

John,

Thank you, much appreciated. I'm trying to make each section look much different than the others and every other layout in the world.

I added the dirt to the south end sand hill.

When dry I added the first layer of base scenery to the top.

While  the scenery material in the previous photo was drying, I added the barbed wire to the fence posts in the corner section.

I used Hunterline's Medium Brown and stained the thread/barbed wire.

I then dug several post holes and started to add the fence posts to the right side of the farm area.

I carried the posts into the corner as this was the edge of the Perkins Farm property.

After several hours, I added the second and third layers of scenery material to the south end.

I then applied matte medium to the scenery and let it dry.

More in a few.
