The track to the left leads to the south end of the Ovalix. From this track you can reverse the train or enter the Ovalix and go down to staging. I you change your mind, you can exit the north end of the Ovalix and continue onto the mainline.

The center track is the mainline and the curved track on the right is the lead in to the City of Tahope.

You see the Caldwell Junction building fit in quite well here.

I worked on the reverse loop area late this morning.

I intend to have the scenery hide the two Tortoise switch motors in the back ground.

I won't be using any structures for this but will use thick under growth on the left and trees in the center diamond area.

In the above picture you can see some blue wall just below the photo back drop. I painted this area brown to blend in with the thick under growth when added.

I had to reach down from the top of the Ovalix to start the scenery in this area.

Fast forward here and I'm waiting on the glue to dry prior to adding more scenery layers.

I moved back to Caldwell Junction. After several hours of seeing the structures in this location, I drew lines where the connecting road will be.

You can also see in the two photos above I ballasted the track on the spur and curve.

... Reading Bob told me how to make cow patties but I haven't done so yet. I need to make a few "pasture land mines" for a more natural look. :o :o

He works in IT, so I'm sure he has substantial professional experience with cow patties and those who produce and manage them :-) :-)  After a career in that line of work, I'm an expert in bovine effluent.

Yes, you are correct about that. I know he sees plenty of chit during the day.

We use to have a saying in the police department. "One Philistine slew a thousand Romans with the jaw bone of a ass. Our managers use the same weapon 1900 years later."

And, then I became one of the managers. ;D ;D ;D  However, I always remembered where I can from, a rookie.

I spread the white glue and added a base layer of sand for the dirt road.

Fast forward back to the diamond area. The area is now ready for some trees and thick bushes to hide the corner.

Done for this day.

I use little blobs of Raw Umber artist's acrylic paint for cow flops - give 'em a day or two to dry because they're thicker than normal paint work.
