I am glad to see that the cows have clean water.

Great scene.

Great save Tom , do you have any idea what caused the problem?

Jan,

Thank you and no. I do have a SWAG (scientific wild ass guess) though.

I usually pour the water over painted plywood. I filled this pond with spackle and used WS earth tones to cover the spackle. My belief is that the resin softened the thin paint and exposed the spackle thus affecting the resin.

The rapid hardening of the water occurred directly over the spackle. When I removed the offending resin water, the remaining resin water settled and dried normally. When the first water pour was about six hours in, I poured the second one and all went as planned.

Marty,

The middle section was hard and the edges were sticky/tacky.

Dave,

I have HO scale gators and they will go in the Suwannee River Lagoon.

Beautiful as always. Love the water. How about a couple of paddle ripples? Just saying. Marvelous scenes. I am sure that you will get many accolades tomorrow from your NMRA visitors.  You have captured the true look of Florida. Looking forward to hearing all about your visitors and there impressions. Look out for possible leaners. there are always a few.

Have a great day my friend.

Frank / Erieman

Frank,

Afternoon my friend. I'm not sure the people in the canoes will be a permanent fixture. Ripples, it at all may come later but not before tomorrow. 8) 8)

I look forward to tomorrow just to see how many show up. Looking forward to meeting a couple of forum members whom plan on visiting.

I just got finished with two test visitors. My mother in law leaned on the layout twice. My Babe reached over the imaginary line several times. I'll be happy if only a few trees get broken.

I'll report tomorrow evening.

When I first saw the tagline "cows are gone", I feared perhaps our late, lamented buddy 'Gnatshop and his merry band of brothers had come cow tipping. Happy and relieved to learn that was NOT the case.
Water on, Tom after you've finished your NMRA decompression.

Chip,

Speaking of Gman, have you heard from him? He's been on my mind and I found his address a few days ago.

Hope all is well with him.

I thought I'd show an over all view of both sides of the layout room. As I mentioned in the past the width is 11 ft. 4 inches and the length for the layout is 42+ feet.

Also, after tomorrow, this room won't be this clean for a very long time.

This next picture will be picture number 3,600 from when I started this thread. I wonder how far along on the layout I'd be if I wasn't a member of the forum?

Tom,
Congrats on the 3600 strip tease shots of your AS.  Have fun tomorrow with all the lurkers and ferroequinologist gazers.  I wonder how many complain tomorrow....... about having lower back pains from bending over and studying all the wonderful details you've built in for their viewing pleasure.  KP-out...

Hmm, it sounds more like a mix issue than water issue, unless there was moisture around the pond.

RWL

Tom,

I hope you have nothing but courteous and well mannered lookers with no leaners, or reachers as Frank describes them. The first picture you posted, a very neat and tidy view of the layout room is impressive, finished layouts don't look that good. My first impression was that you had a side business of forensic pathology, the center peninsula looks as if you are stacking the bodies under those blue cloths. Is this a subliminal warning, a sign for the leaners and reachers, because I think it is an effective visual deterrent, it will work? Have a great day, keep Bill busy on the throttle.

If I can tell by the amount of Facebook posts he does every day and the humor of his FB posts I'd say David is doing fairly well, I just hope the Smokey Robinson song " Tears of a clown"  is not applicable.

Enjoy your day Tom , hope you have lots of appreciative visitors , your layout surely deserves it.
I love photo's, don't we all.
