I've been thinking about the barbed wire question posed by Dave Emery. I came upon an idea and tried it this morning.
...
I was looking at this material and especially the top portion. I thought this would make a great barbed wire look if cut properly.

I used a metal ruler and trimmed the top off as shown below.

Keep in mind this photo is a close up view so it looks out of scale for HO.

Leave it to Tom to figure out how to do barbed wire!!!!  (My question was mostly in jest, but I'm very glad to see it sparked an actually useful result.)
