I forgot I have these neat kits. I have no harbor but the kits are going to be built in my after life.

More in a few.

I now have all the original Magnuson kits in one place. Walthers purchased the Magnuson line and now you can get some of these in plastic.

The original Magnuson kit were and are resin.

Some of these kits I got at Chester Holly's Hobby Shop in Tampa, Fl. Chester was a character. He wore jeans a white t-shirt with yellow stains under the arm pits. He wore sandals with white socks. His shop was in an old warehouse with NO AC. I purchased the white box Magnuson kits from Chester back in the mid to late 70's.

Any one remember the Magnuson Practice kits/

How about the Hotel flat?

For now the treasure hunting is over and I'm close to being ready to get moving on more bench work.

Oh, I'm still looking for all the stuff I bought from Slim just two months ago. I guess the hunting is on going after all.

Hi Tom:

Nice collection.

Karl

Karl,

Thank you, it has been a hoarding for a very long time. My Babe says lets sell some of the train stuff and I'll buy more jewelry. I say, sell some jewelry and I'll buy more train stuff. ;D ;D ;D

It's a stand off.

Jeff,

You may find it one day. You can spray a new coat of paint and start over with new skills and knowledge.

John,

The treasure hunt has been fun, especially when I find something I didn't know I lost. 8) 8)

When Frank was here, he just shook his head.

Thom,

After 50+ years of buying and stashing, a man is then known as a hoarder. I do fit that description of sorts.

Don't let Frank fool you - I've been under his layout.  Between the two of you I think you could fill Walther's warehouse. ;)

Full disclosure - my wife will tell you that I'm not to far behind.  I can't believe how many kits I've collected over the years.

John & Tom,

While at Tom's, I admit that I was shaking my head. Tom has an awesome collection. Most of the stuff Tom has, WAS in my collection as well, but over the past couple of years, been thinned out. Granted, i still have a half a hobby shop under the layout, and the rest is on the top of it. There are over 200 structures of varying sizes currently on the layout. I don't recall buying all this stuff. It has just accumulated over the years. I'm getting a bit refined in what I buy as I get older.

Tom has gotten me into installing caboose marker lights and putting led lighting into some of my structures. The wife just saw those bills today. Merry Christmas. Now I'm going to buy some WOW sound decoders for my geeps. What has Tom got me into?!!! Thanks friend!!

Afternoon Frank,

I've thinned out my stash over the past dozen years or so. Okay, well, I tried to thin out the stash. I kept saying to myself, "Self, oh wait, I may need that one day."  Yep, classic sign of a hoarder.

I know we have stuff the local hobby shop lacks. But hey, they didn't have to sell their stash! :P :P

I've cut way back on many kits and need to sell a couple dozen or so. "Oh wait, I may build that one some day!"

Sorry my friend for getting you into the caboose marker lights and WOW sound for your loco.

Your layout will love you for it.
