What kind of terminal strips are you using for the magnet wire?  I've been using euro-style strips for my own signals (here: http://www.railroad-line.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=45342) because I don't need to crimp a lug onto the end of every wire.  However,  they are not good at grasping even #30 wire.

I've used IC sockets to make some of my signals removable, but they don't have enough pins for multiple PRR-style heads on a bridge.

James thanks for taking a look. I used a 5 position terminal bock I ordered from Amazon. I have attached the link below. We used one block for each head. The magnet wire slips into the connector and then tightens down with a screw driver. Each connector measures 2 1/2 X 7/8 inches. The plastic cover helps protect the magnet wire. I hope this helps.

Bill and Kris,

I really enjoyed my visit this afternoon. Better yet, Pam says thanks for baby sitting me while she was taking care of business.

Your layout is looking fantastic and the new structures are changing the entire look of the upper area.

Kris has become quite the arborist and it shows in all the new trees and forests.

The new signaling system is wonderful and this alone has drastically changed the layout for the better.

Keep up the great work my friends!

Today the Judge and I had an opportunity to visit Bill and Kris Cutler's Pennsy layout. We specially wanted to see the new signaling system they are installing.

A very good friend of ours, Jon Schubert, is helping. By helping, I mean Jon had kit bashed the signal bridges to fit the four track mainline. He is using the signal heads used by the Pennsy and I  believe I understood that each bridge had no less than 50 small (magnet wires) coming from the signals.

Jon is all things Pennsy as he grew up in that area and knows it extremely well. I'd like to add that the Judge and I have been using Jon to install our TCS WOW decoders. He is an expert with the Digitraxx DCC system so he is the kind of friend you want to keep happy! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Anyway, when I got to the Cutler's this morning, I found Jon leaning over the layout checking the signals and turnout numbers to make sure the signals were working in relation the correct turnout.

Jon is our signal maintainer.

The next two pictures show the Tunnel Hill area. The two tracks on the left are coming out of the Rat Hole at Gallitzin, PA. The opposite end of Tunnel Hill is where AR Tower is located.

The two tracks on the right are heading into Tunnel Hill at Gallitzin, PA.

The red signal lights on the left are referred to as snake eyes.

The next picture shows the five track signal bridge just past MO Tower at Cresson, PA.

The new signaling system being installed on the Pennsy, Six Miles West of Altoona and More really changes the appearance of the layout.

Details like this is what takes a layout from being a model railroad to a railroad model.

Very well done Jon, Bill and Kris. I love it!

Well heck, last but not least is our good friend the Judge who loves all things railroad related.

He was unfortunate in that he was at the throttle when a major derailment occurred and tied up traffic for over an hour on the Pennsy.  Lord only knows how much revenue was lost due to his being at the throttle.

Tom, it was great having you and the Judge drop buy. Thanks for posting the pictures. We are very lucky to have Jon as a friend to help all of us with his experience with the hobby, can't say enough.
