Every time I think " wow , those are the best rocks I've ever seen " , you show us a new layout where the rocks are even better.

Thank you for following along Jan. I love mountain scenery so your going to see a lot of rocks in my photographs. Gil was good friends with John Allen and you can see how he influenced his layout.

Thanks for posting these amazing photos of Gil Freitag's layout. I have never seen this many wonderful photos of his layout in one place. Since you didn't really elaborate about Gil's structures; many are contest winners, wood shake roofs are done with individual cedar shingles. Not to mention, his scenery is absolutely stunning.
Yet again, thank you for taking the time to share so many wonderful photos with those of us unable to see these layouts in person.

You are welcome. I have only posted about half the photographs that I took of Gil's layout so please stay tuned. I'm refraining from adding my personal comments to the pictures in these Narrow Gauge Threads out of respect for all the wonderful layout owners that opened up their homes to us for the Narrow Gauge Conventions over the years. All the layouts I have visited and photographed are fantastic - Gil's is one step above that!

Just sayin! I feel truly blessed to have had the opportunity over the years to visit these layouts and I hope these pictures help and inspire you with your modeling. I know that Gil's work has inspired the very best in our hobby.
