Cornice cap assembled, painted, joint spackled. Sanded, touched-up, then some grey sponge-dabbed on.

After gluing the cap on I realized I should've applied the roofing tar, first. Turned out to be no big deal.

Hi Dave.

Just catching up on your build.  Its looking fabulous!  I love the signage!

Doug makes some terrific kits and this one has a very nostalgic feel to it - like I feel like I've walked past it many times at some point in my life.  The other one you have just ordered looks great too.

Cheers, Mark.

Your build is coming along beautifully.  I always thought something was "wrong" with this structure when I saw it on Doug's site.  Your posting the old signs made me think that the hanging Kodak sign is too modern for the rest of the signage on the structure.  Checking the Kodak logo history, that type of sign probably wasn't used until the 1970s.  I would think all the other signage would be updated by that time, but maybe that's just me, and I could be wrong.  My wife says I'm wrong most of the time.   ;D

Interesting point. I sometimes get critiqued (in a friendly way) for having signs from disparate eras on my builds. I just love lots of signs. I do try to avoid too much of a huge time jump, though. I haven't started the overhanging Kodak sign... maybe I'll poke around a bit. Then again, I'm not building any particular era other than "back then." 🤪 Thanks a bunch for the food-for-thought.

That's it for tonight...have a 1.5 hour drive to take my M-in-L out for her 70th. Cheers!

Ate way too much last night so I spent some time noodling the sign issue. Here're some gems I came across...

Think it'll either be the blue one or this one...

Speaking of signs, mounted the main business sign.
