Thanks Curt and John , somehow I can't get the roof toned down, despite powders and matte medium.

If you want to tone it down I would try alcohol without the ink. Try it on a sample first - it should cut the color down just a little. Whip your brush on a paper towel and see if it takes some of the pigment off.

I still find it hard to believe it is N scale.

Great job Jan.

Thanks Jim and Jerry, the difference is in the details Jim , weathering and detailing N-scale is easier because the amount needed is less. That does show on photo's though because the structures are magnified much more then larger scales.

Jan,

Nicely done on the model.

I've found that although matte medium dries to a clear finish, it also has a slight satin finish look. I think a flat finish spray and when dry followed up with a very light dry brushing of a light gray or off white should tone down the roof.

Painted the walls Tamiya XF21 Sky

The walls are much lighter in this photo , same lighting so don't know why, this is actually more like the real color although the windows are mint green and not white.

Jan,

I'll be following along as I enjoy all your builds. One thing, you may want to consider adding a second coat of paint to the doors, they look unfinished.
