I made progress today on two fronts for this build.  First, I started gluing up the foam baseboard to account for the space between the structures. I basically setup the height of each of the structures while I had the baseboard on the layout. Now, I will fill in the rest of the landform and figure out where all the wonderful castings will go and how many extras I will need for my installation.

I also started playing with coloring the castings. It is going to take some time for me to decided just how I want to color them.  It all started with the first stones.

I finished one of my test walls, today.  The top picture is on the workbench the second picture is near the layout location where it will go.  What do you think?

Fantastic looking! This is going to look amazing when you are done! I'm always being pushed to high modeling standards when I look at the work that is being posted on this forum

Thanks Jan

I tried a different approach and I think it's going to be my go to technique. I will post pictures and describe it this evening.

Thank you for following along and the kind words. I have decided to go this way with the coloring on the build - I think it works better in my setting on the layout.

Looks great John. A little bit of stone color will "pop" among all those cliffs. Nice!

See you in a few weeks...John

John,

Looks wonderful and that area will be a real eye catcher when finished. Well done my friend.

Thanks - I'm really starting to like this new technique. I did a couple more castings today. I took pictures and will post the technique description here tonight.
