Finally, I decided I'd had enough when there were only a few areas that hadn't hardened.

I fired up the shop vacuum and dug out these remaining soft spots. I then got out the beach sand and white glue and started to cover the foam and GypsolLite with a sand and white glue mixture. My old standard technique.

Here is were I left off for the evening. The first layer of sand has been laid down dry. I then wet it down with wet water (a drop or two of dish soap in the water). I then saturate the sand with a 4:1 mixture of white glue. Tomorrow I will add the next layer.

This morning, the glue and sand has hardened and is ready for additional material. Moving forward.

I finished the first coat of mud (sand and white glue) on the front of the baseboard. Now, to finish installing all the window castings.

Today, I spent part of the day installing windows and detail painting the subassemblies for this build. I also started the build process for the Delabarre Tool & Die.  First, I finished the wood base for the build.

I also started dry fitting the castings.

Finally, for today the castings for Delabarre's started to go together.

Changed the subject to include Delabarre Tap & Die.  This is a test!

Today, more castings were assembled. The following sequence of pictures shows the assembly process. I added a layer of wax paper between the baseboard and the castings for the gluing process. Once everything is together I will be removing the assembly from the baseboard and painting it on my detailing workbench. Yes, I believe in using lots of bracing. Bob recommends 1/8 inch braces - I used 1/4 inch where I could make them fit.
