I then used Elmer's White Glue to glue it in place.

Weights were added and then let it dry overnight.

If you can't take Mohammed to the mountain, bring the mountain to Mohammed.

(Actually, you apparently flunked trigonometry, long before you got to calculus :-) :-) )

Dave,

Advanced Algebra A, I escaped Trig with a C and Calculus was a waste of time for me and my prof.

Just saying.

Good work Tom. Just a small engineering change. It's hard to get good help these days.

It looks to be another government job - over budget and over schedule.  >:( >:( >:(

Greg,

Possibly so. However, I didn't see the other five government workers standing around while I did all the work.

Tom ;D

They were probably in the shady bar down the street checking out the suds and broads..... ;)

John,

Thank you, appreciate the comment. Also, if I paid myself, I'd be fired a long time ago.  ;D ;D

Greg,

They probably were at the trackside tavern.

A new roadway was cut to replace the one removed. I first marked on the road base the width of the bridge road portion.

I drew a straight line from the bridge road along the road base.

I did the same on the opposite end.

The two lines came together at the X.

I then used a 36" radius tool and aligned each end with the pencil lines.

More in a few.

Using the radius tool as a guide, I drew a pencil line along the outside edge.

This gives me the natural curve of the road. I did the same on the opposite side of the road. I used an Xacto knife with #11 blade and free hand cut on the pencil lines.

Here is how it looks.

Applied some white glue and placed the road on the foam using traced pencil lines to align the road on both ends.

Here we go again with the weights. I let this dry overnight as well.

Shows us even the best can err now and then.   Nice recovery.  Great that you shared the entire situation with us.

Tom,

I actually like the road better now with the slight curve.  I know it ended up being extra work, but looks to me like a happy accident.

Roads often have jogs next to river crossings from building a new bridge next to the old one.
