ACL1504

Time to get going on another build.

This is Jim Harr's version of the New Erie Cafe. The original cafe was located on Track Road in Cleveland, Ohio, adjacent to the Erie Railroad's East 55th Street station.

I've had this model since 2009 and have wanted to build it since that time. Reading Bob has one as well and he can tell ya'll how I came to get this one.

Also, This kit is no longer available and Jim is out of the kit building business.

Of course, I'll be changing the sign to be New Tahope Cafe.

From the next photo, it appears the cafe made it into the early 70's prior to being torn down.

More in a few.

I see many possibilities for this kit. However, I will try to keep it mostly as original as I can. More on this later in the actual build.

The box contents are shown below.

Some very nice interior details as stools, booths, vents, lunch counter, condiment bottles and tables.

I'll be starting this kit in the next few days or so. It will be a slow build as I also want to get back to working on the layout as I feel I'm falling behind. I'm going to try 50/50 on kit build and layout.

Falling behind on the layout build even though I have no schedule. After all, I have every Saturday to work on the kit and layout.

I've read through the instructions twice now and find some issues that I'll cover in the thread as I get to them

Thanks for following along on another adventure in kit building.

Curt,

Thanks for following along. It will be located between the north end of Tahope business district and the roundhouse turntable area.

That's the plan at this point.

I would imagine that you are going o source Diet Pepsi signs to replace the Coke signs.  Can't have that other brand in Tom's city!

I love photo's, don't we all.

Looks like Tahope is growing by leaps and bounds.  Hope the planning board is OK with all this construction.
