I appreciate your help on the roof top stuff.

Tom,
I missed a few days keeping up but just read through the last four pages of posts. Excellent work on this one!  Without tables in the middle of the joint you have an excellent dance floor ready to go!

George,

Thank you for the kind compliment. Dancing, yes, maybe! I tried another two booths and the space just looked to cluttered.

I'm about 99% finished with the Tahope Cafe.

I installed the windows and doors. The model doesn't sit flat due to the LED lead wires coming out of the bottom.

I also added a few extra details to the model to give it a more personal ACL1504 touch.

I added exterior plumbing pipes to the rear.

I enlarged the window opening on the second floor and installed a door. Of course this required me to make the exterior stairs. I still need to add bracing to the 4X4 support posts.

In place of the rolled roofing, I used 180 grit sandpaper for a gravel roof top. I sprayed it with ACE hardware Gray Primer. After cutting it to fit, I used white glue to glue it in place.

I used Gallery Glass Liquid Leading for the roof sides and walls. Instead of using a toothpick to apply the leading, I used a small paint brush and the task went much faster and neater.

I also made some roof repairs with the paint brush and the liquid leading.

I cut the roof hatch in half and only used one for the roof. It was installed over the second floor hallway for the roof access. The kit comes with two roof hatches.

I painted the roof hatch with Model Master Jet Exhaust. When dry I used brown and thinner to "muck" it up. I used the same "muck" for the roof top AC unit.

Call the repair AC guy. The roof top AC unit is leaking!

I used Floquil Crystal Coat for the water.

I also used HO scale 2 X 12's for the side wall caps. This was also an added feature not included in the kit.

I'll have some final photos in a day to two.

Nice touch with the roof A/C , my son is an Hvac guy, I'll see if he has time to jump up on the roof.
The chimney's look great, whats your technique? I struggle with chimney colors.

Hi Tom,

The project is looking great Tom.  The roof details are something that most of us would forget about.  Looks fantastic.

Love the leaking A/C unit.  That's a really nice touch that helps to put a fine build over the top!   :D

What do you mean, "final photos"?  It looks fabulous and these aren't the final photos?  I love all the little extra touches that you add.  Just beautiful!
