Looks great Tom. I thought you were going to finish it in one setting! :)

Curt,

Thanks, once I get the walls done it will go a little faster.

Before you paint the resin ( Laser) Board do wipe it down with Alcohol to remove any oils from the manufacturing process. I find the .024 brown has way more then the  .015 ivory board.

Rich,

Ha, to late for that. I did wipe it down with a damp cloth but not with alcohol. I'll remember this info for the next build.

The two coats of gloss white covered it very well though.

I appreciate the info and input.

Greg,

Thank you. When I saw it, I knew it would be a perfect addition to the layout and Tahope.

I decided to follow the instructions and build the front wall first. This wasn't really necessary to do as it is obviously your choice. However, due to the details, I wanted it finished first.

Again, each wall consists of three panels - exterior, middle and interior.

You can see in the next photo, I painted the front door with push bars and the front side of the middle wall silver.

Below is a photo of the front/exterior wall and the front side of the middle wall. The front is on the bottom and the middle one is on top.

Although the paint on the top wall section appears white, it is actually silver.

The exterior wall is glued to/over the middle wall section.

Again, all exterior sides have tabs on the bottom for placement in the slots located in the base.

When gluing the walls together, I chose to use the Elmer's School Glue Stick.

This glue bonds paper together extremely well. I also use this to glue rolled roofing paper to the roofs of other builds.

I simply rub it on one wall section and then press the two walls together.

You have time to move and adjust the parts prior to the glue setting and won't squeeze out the sides. It also dries clear.

After gluing the two walls together, I lay them flat and added weights until the glued. Not sure how long it takes for the glue to dry but I left the weight on the walls over night.

When the weight was removed I found the front wall had a smudge of blue in the upper right corner. Apparently this came from the workbench pad.

Since the smudge was from a dry paint transfer, I used some clean Alcohol and Q-tip to removed the smudge. From this point on, I'll used plain white paper on the workbench and under the weights to keep the gloss white walls clean.

This next photo shows the interior wall section on the back of the middle wall. They have yet to be glued together.

In the photo you can see the brown color of the wall above the white. This needs to be painted your trim color, in my case the Gulf blue.

I painted the blue on the upper section of the wall. If you get a little on the upper portion of the front, don't worry. Well, if you only get a little don't worry.

I did this on purpose to show you that it can be fixed/covered.

If you are using a lacquer based paint, take a Q-tip, dip it in some thinner and wipe off the paint moving from below the paint to the top edge.

If using Tamiya, use Alcohol and if acrylic, use water. Of course this only helps if the paint is still wet. 8)

I left the paint on the wall and covered it with the exterior trim as shown below. I've also added the two garage bay doors so you can see how they look.

On my model the doors will be open so more on that later in the thread.

Okay, all three wall pieces are now glued into one wall section. Here is how it should look from the rear.

No need to paint the rear of the garage bay doors as they won't be seen when the model is complete.

You can now see the blue at the top and also that I've painted the back side of the area to the right.

I then removed the front door push bars and glued them to the front door.

I used Canopy glue for this as it dries clear. I used a toothpick to apply the glue.

Once the glue was dry, I touched up the edges and ends with silver paint.

I'll have more to add to the thread late this afternoon or evening.
