The island and pumps are outstanding.

Curt,

Thank you for following along and for the kind compliment on the gas island and pumps. I appreciate your support on the build.

The 1950's Gas Station by Inter-Action Industries is an excellent kit. It was a challenge to get the walls all aligned correctly but as Darryl said, "Patience pays off with a great looking station." It truly is one of a kind for a 1950's gas station.

I wouldn't recommend this kit for the beginner modeler. This is due only in that he/she may get frustrated and not finish. I highly suggest those building this kit to go to the web site and download the instructions in color. The print is still in black but the colored photos in the instructions make understanding how the walls and other parts go together much easier.

I'm still a bit amazed at the design and laser cutting quality of the kit. Everything fit perfectly. I didn't find it necessary to make any adjustment to any part. Obviously, much thought, planning and "how to" went into the design.

Everything needed to build the kit was included, even the three small LED strips. Of course this doesn't include tools, paints and glues.

The instructions were well written, clear and unambiguous.

This is the first time I've ever built a kit using the Resin Impregnated Board, RIB. For the station walls, exterior and interior, the RIB was perfect.

Overall, I rate this kit a 10+ on a scale of 1-10. I'm extremely satisfied with how it turned out. I'm very pleased to have built the kit for the Tom Schwarz Challenge.

Also, I'm extremely happy to have posted a thread on the fantastic kit. It was certainly a fun build and I thank Darryl Jacobs for a quality kit and design.

Oh , you did it again, made me wonder if I should go to H0 scale . Don't get me wrong I loved doing this kit in N-scale , but there's just that bit of detail in the H0 kit that's simply not possible in N-scale. Well done Tom , and I agree , Daryll's kits are great to build and you end up with something different to all the other kits around.
I love photo's, don't we all.

I agree with both Tom and Jan that Darryl's kits are fantastic to build. There are four on Red Hook Bay including the beautiful CR Lamb sternwheeler. Great job Tom!

That's going to look great in Tahope!   :D  Super job and great thread.  Anyone (like me) who hasn't tried one like this will have a clear understanding of what needs to be done if they read through this thread.

Great looking station, Tom.  Thanks for the detailed thread, I think we all learn something from them, and I know how much time they take.
