Mark, I'm very happy Wilbur is well.
Star had the same thing happen.
One morning she couldn't use her hind legs.
I was in a remote area and it took over an hour to get to a vet.
I got there and the vet was closed.
But I noticed Star had some use of her legs.
She could walk but still couldn't jump into the van.
I gave it some time and hoped she would improve and after another hour or so she was back to normal.
No idea what caused it.

Mark, so glad to hear Wilbur is doing better!  Mystery illnesses in dogs are really distressing, in part because they can't tell you what's happening and you have to try to deduce symptoms as well as causes.

Glad to hear your pal is better.  Wilbur looks like a perfect name for him.

Your trackwork is coming along nicely as well.
