Just a general discussion of 3d printing using a home printer.  FYI, Make magazine's November issue has reviews of just about every available home priced 3d printer.  Good reading if you are interested.

Hey Kent,
I came to see the "Pigs"
Oh and the Barn.

I have not got the pig pen built yet, so in the short term I am keeping the pigs at Gnats place.

But here is a test shot of the barn.  I printed the roof yesterday, took just over 4 hours.  Needs a little redesign before I print it again, but it will work for me.  I also need to plan the foundation differently to allow for inserting a floor...should have thought of that.

One day I guess I'll break  down and  get a 3D printer. They sure are fantastic as far as the stuff you can do.

How do you get the large photo? I've tried several sizes and that all post at the same small picture.

Tom :)

Afinia, the printer I have, will be at the Amherst show with a booth.  I will also be there, although not affiliated with Afinia.

And yeah, I am jacked about an east coast show, only the second one I have attended, and the first Amherst show.

Kent,
Make certain that is a very short term for swine storage. If you leave those poor pigs at Gnat's for too long they will come home different. After all we are talking about "Gnat".

Yo Kent,
Just finished a new  Feed Mill and on the menu is Hog chow. You should stop in and get a few bags to try. Gnat no doubt has them on a stale pizza and beer diet.

Bobby Flay - step aside, the Ledbetter's are HERE!!   ;D ;D ;D
Even Candy and Ranny, err, Randee will be in hog heaven with the third ingredient!

Oops - It's you fault, Tom!
By quoting you, I'm posting in the middle of a seruss thread again - a bad fault of mine!

Sorry, Doug and Robert!

I have not been here for a while, I mostly watch the forums from my phone using Tapatalk, and since this forum does not use that application, I just don't make it here very often.

This store front in HO is based on a prototype in Memphis.  I did it mostly just to play around with 3d printing glass blocks.

Construction and design details can be viewed at: http://nvrr49.blogspot.com/2014/08/memphis-store-front-3d-printed-glass.html

I will be putting on clinics about home based 3d printing at the National Narrow Gauge Convention next month, and I am trying to schedule one at the Amherst show this winter.

If you really came to see the pigs...... You really need to connect with gnatshop .... Dave..

He uses them for yard maintenance around his house and grounds.

Did you ever notice how many towns are named after their water towers ! ?

This structure was based on an early Gulf Oil filling station.  The basic structure was done on a home Afinia printer, and the windows and doors were done at shapeways.com.  Design and construction details can be seen at: http://nvrr49.blogspot.com/2014/09/hexagon-gulf-gas-station-3d-printed.html

I have done some initial prints on an M3D, a $350 printer.  More pictures and analysis at: http://nvrr49.blogspot.com/2015/09/m3d-printer-1-test-prints.html
