At our Logging show any model that won a trophy in years past is not allowed to take a prize again. So we always have new models.
We average around 80 models entered in the contest and only have 150 people register for the show. And these are not your average models, one of the guys took 5 firsts and a second in the seven classes he entered at the Seattle Narrow Gauge convention. He bring in new models every year.

I couldn't make the last Expo, but I'll be there in 2015 for sure. Thanks to Jaime I am going to build a diorama for the contest room. I mean he really twisted my arm because I have one structure built already.      I'm thinking something like a New England fishing port dio.  Don't know what a coal mine looks like.  Here's the first structure ready to go on.

Springfield show to pick up some Gator board for the base, not sure what size to get though. Anyone have any suggestions?

I have a 4 foot by 8 foot sheet of Gatorfoam here. Perhaps I can have a diorama ready on it by Expo 2020.
