I didn't get much done on Grumpy's today. I plan to build an open air roof over the second story deck. In the next photo you can see I glued a scale 2X8 above the door. This will be where the 2X8 rafters will be attached to the wall.





I then glued a 2X8 below the door where the wall portion of the deck will be attached. I also glued two vertical 4X4's on the right.





More in a few.

Here is how the deck will fit once all the other supports are in place.







In the photo above, I didn't like how the narrow portion of the deck looked. I decided I needed to add one more 2X8 to the narrow portion.

The next photo shows the added 2X8. This looks better to me.





This is the location of the stair stringer and how it fits to the deck. It is not glued to the wall.
