Quote from: Rick on October 25, 2025, 07:05:11 PMTom, nice work.
Looks great.
Almost thought you were talking about 29 Palms in California.

Rick,

Thank you my friend. 29 Palms, CA. is pretty much desert and cactus isn't it?

Quote from: Pennman on October 26, 2025, 09:19:02 AMTom, as the others have mentioned, looks great now.
Will you be installing the plexiglass clear, see-thru barriers along your whole layout?
One would think they would get in the way when you have op sessions, but maybe not.

Rich

Rich,

Thank you and yes, I will as I get to it. I have the  plexiglass but haven't cut it yet.

I wanted to have ops sessions and designed much of the layout for it. When the SBGs get together, we just talk and BS while another runs trains. So far the plexiglass hasn't been an issue.

Gary,

Thank you for the kind compliment. I like the4 palm tree look since it is a Central Fl. layout.  8)

Philip,

Thanks, I love all the southern railroads. Actually, I never met a railroad I didn't like. Even the Pennsy!

Since I finished the Perkins' Farm barn, I wanted to update the scenery in this area. I think this area scenery wise is about 8-9 years old.

This is where the4 barn is located. The two black dots to the right shows where the west barn doors are located.

I wet this area with warm water and let it sit for about 30 minutes. That gives it long enough for the glue to soften.

I then used a putty knife and removed the old glued scenery.

Scenery removed and area dried. The black dots show the new location of the fence.

This white fence in this photo is the one that will be placed where the black dots were shown.

The top of the fascia will also be touched up with green paint.

I realize I'm moving fast here but this is a repeat of the west side scenery redo.

If you want to see what and how I redid the scenery on the west side, feel free to go back to page 68.

I spread white glue to the new farm yard area.

I'll shovel this pile of dirt to the glue area.

The pasture is next. I'm done for today.

Once I got the loose dirt shoveled over to the west side of the barn, I secured it with matte medium.

I sprayed the matte medium on the dirt with a light spray/mist so I didn't move any of the top layer of dirt.

I also added some grass and weeds next to the fascia and installed the fence.

While that area was drying, I added some additional trees and piled wild bushes to the area just north of the barn and pasture.

I then moved on to the cow pasture and updated the greenery.

While replacing the plexiglass, I broke on of the trees in the Piney Woods area. The tree was unrepairable so I added one from my tree farm.

This is a custom tree for the Atlantic and Southern RR made by Kris Cutler. She made several kit bashed trees and gifted me the others from the Pennsy, Six Miles West of Altoona layout. It is now a Fallen Flag Layout.
