Fantastic space, Tom.

You have certainly designed a layout which makes the most of it.  Where on your threads would I find the most up-to-date plan?

Cheers, Mark.

Nice job on the statue base...I've got an O scale sea captain figure I've been saving for a similar project. I think that's an element that I've seen many times that always adds a good bit of interest.

General Lee wore a uniform with three stars on the collar.  Most people think that designates Lieutenant General rank but that is not the case.  In the Confederate Army, stars designated field grade officer rank.  One star designated the rank of major, two stars designated the rank of lieutenant colonel, and three stars designated the rank of Colonel.  I don't know why Lee insisted on wearing Colonel's rank insignia.  General Officers wore a rank insignia that was a rectangle within which three stars were enclosed by a wreath.  All general officers wore the same insignia, regardless of their rank.

Mark, Cheers,

After seeing how Cliff Powers did his Magnolia Route layout this was a no brainer. My old one came down in 2013 and this one started.

Greg and I are working on a track plan. Stay tuned.

John,

Thank you, appreciate the comment. I've been planning this one for years.

I added more detail to the park area. The four slabs are for benches around the statue.

I also added a round slab for the flag pole.

More in a few.

I added some grass and will add some bushes later when this dries.

I may also add a small fence around the park. More on this later.

Time for a Diet Pepsi, back in a few.

I will often place a structure in a location and let it sit for a week or two. If it fits the eye after that period of time, I'll know it and leave it. If not, it goes to another location for study later.

I've had the structures in the photos below in this location for the better part of two plus weeks. Some work and others don't.

Continued in a few.

Thornhill Liquors and the pawn shop work.

The Judge's Quarters and the flop house will stay.

The Green Dragon will stay and the Jazz Club will go.

The structures that will stay may not necessarily remain in their current spot.

Lastly, Hokum's Burlesque will go. It just doesn't make sense here. It will go on the third level next to FOSs Red Light District.

A bar or two will go here better so the railroad workers can spent their money drinking. If they are short of money, they can visit the pawn shop or get a loan from Honest Joe.

I see a story in the future here.

FOS' The Pub Crawl will fit nicely here instead of Hokum's. The next photo was borrowed from the FOS site.
