Steaming along, Tom.

Long may the new found energy continue...

Cheers, Mark.

Tom, glad to hear you're feeling better and making good progress on the layout . I also have one of those Boston sharpeners.  Great minds think alike!

Jeff

Jeff,

Thank you, much appreciated. Yes, after several months of feeling like crude, I feel much better and have more energy. The Boston sharpener is the best.

You have to admire the movers and shakers of Tahope.....when it comes to more tax revenue from a mixed use development, they can more pretty fast getting all the approvals passed and the permits issued.  ;D

Greg,

The  movers and shakers of Tahope don't do anything unless you "grease"  some palms in the permitting department.  The more grease, the faster the process.  :(

As I mentioned in an earlier post, a small hobby shop will be placed between the two tracks. This was a FOS freebie and I don't remember what I purchased to get the free kit. It was offered in 2018.

Here's a note Doug put in this one.

The kit has no instructions but it is pretty much a straight forward build.

Nice signs, a bit bright but perfect for the hobby shop.

I took some time and familiarized myself with the parts. I labeled them for quick reference.

I started with the front wall facade. There are many parts to it but these two go together. I cut the top portion off. It fits at the top and on top of the lower piece.

After the two were glued together and dry, I then glued the part to the front wall section.

These three parts make up the main front wall.

I used 8X8 scale lumber to brace the rear wall and sub structure walls.

When dry, I used Hunterline Light Gray A&I to the front wall sections.

I then glued the three base pieces together.

When dry, I painted the front sidewalk and sides of the base with Floquil Concrete.

Keep It Rusty

What a cool little kit. Love that Doug does this.
Can't wait to see the shop! Maybe it should be called "Between the Rails"?
