A couple of weeks ago I started to declutter the third level of the layout. It became an easy place to just put something out of the way instead of putting it back in the proper location. It finally got to me and I decided to declutter so I could more easily envision what I wanted the third level to look like.

Here is the one before photo -

Here is the start of all the declutter -

The two Magnuson building on the right in the above photo are from the layout I took down to build this final version of the A&S RR.

Also, I've been having issues with my photo program, this is why the next several photos are large.

Deciding where to place the City Classics building. Reading Bob gave me the three unbuilt kits.

For now the trees will stay where they are. A dear friend, Chris Cutler, made all theses from Scenic Express Super Trees. She tied a few together and then used Mastic to make the tree trunks and then carved the bark. Beautifully done.

A few day ago I decided to finish the carpet tiles on the east side of the layout isle. I also wanted to check this one off my self imposed "to do list".

The fundamental problem with removing the clutter from the top of the layout is finding other shelf space to put that stuff!   ;D  It'll be fun to watch how you plan this out.

For several years I've had 2X8 sheets of Masonite screwed up against the layout. I did this to keep it from falling most of the time I walked by there. I moved it further back so I could lay more carpet tiles in the isle.

To my surprise, I found all kinds of goodies I really forgot I had. Yes, as my wife said, I'm a hoarder. I found dozens of Jordan and Wheel Works kits.

Behind the vehicles, I found four stacks of Bar Mills billboard signs. I bought a collection just prior to Bar Mill being told they were violating copy rights of the owners of the name brands.

Dave,

Yes, I mentioned in decluttering that putting it away is yet another challenge. I've put tools where they belong and the locos back in the loco cabinet drawers.

Next to the signs, a big lot of SS Ltd. kits. And a few Ulrich tractor/trailer kits and about 14 Kadee boxcars, new in the box.

Done for today.

Holy Cow, Tom.  You'll be busy for years to come building all those kits.  The layout looks good.  Have fun, mike
My current builds are on the Buffalo Canyon Mining Company's wooden Howe Truss Bridge, and miscellaneous rolling stock .
