Howdy,

Last convention day. It's been fun hanging out with familiar faces and meeting new ones.

Enjoy your weekend, everyone.

This cool foundry was in the contest room.

Later.

Nice pic, Jaime...I just saw that next year's NNGC is in the cool city of Seattle (Tacoma) and one of my all-time favorite layouts, the Hangman Creek Lumber Company, will be there. If things go as they should in my business life this year, I will absolutely be there.

Heading to Albany NY for a wedding-just a surgical strike, back on Monday so my youngest doesn't miss school. My wife and daughter are going to stick around for the week and catch a day at the US Open (dream for her) and a few days with her family out on Long Island. To make it more interesting, we had to take our 1yr old puppy to an ER yesterday because we couldn't find a disposable shaving cartridge that fell in the shower. It couldn't just vanish, so we took the happy suspect for an X-ray. Sure enough, there it is - in his dumb stomach. Surgery went well last night and his weekend boarding plans are now inpatient. When I get back on Monday, I imagine I'll be learning a special dog diet.

I do have an MR-related goal for September...not a big one, but just need to get the gears turning again.

Have a great weekend...John

Morning all,

I received a call early this morning that Bob passed during the night. He lived just 5 days after the cancer diagnosis.  :'(

Have a great day ya'll.

Good Morning Everyone;

Tom, sorry to hear about your friend. Sounds like a bad time all the way around.

I went outside this morning for paper and noticed a change, it was actually pleasant! I suspect Summer is starting to fade, just a little.

Today hope to get in some layout time after chores. A lot going on in the entire country today, hope everyone stays safe.

Such sad news, Tom. And so quick... I'm so sorry.

Sorry to hear about your friend Tom, take solace that he didn't suffer long. Spent time painting windows and details for my build at the garage bench yesterday. I'm leaning towards a gravel roof instead of tarpaper even though it has a slope to it.

Condolences proffered from here also Tom.
Some of you may have seen the Ida remnants coverage from Horsham, PA in the news Thursday and yesterday. Yesterday I saw the damage. First encounter with after tornado. What a total mess. Heck of a way to trim trees! What I couldn't get over was demolition on one side of the street and no damage on the other side of the very same street. Glad I missed the actual twister! And, the main Interstate artery through Philadelphia for those headed "down shore" for Labor Day is still closed and flooded. Glad we're home for the weekend.
Working on my second million. I gave up on the first.

Narrow Gauge convention contest room is always an inspiration (albeit depressing at times :-) )

Sorry about your friend, Tom.  But '5 days with cancer' is a brief time to go through that.

Cuse, good luck with your pup's recovery.

Morning all,

I'm so sorry to hear about your friend Tom.   :'(

I'll be spending a lot of time at the workbench this weekend.  It's cluttered with little projects.  Details castings for Cuse, a Kit of the Month Club build for me, boats for Tom, more detail castings and couple of Sylvan's (first time) for me plus I need to do a little lighting project for Curt if I can clean off enough space.   ::)

Have a great one!
