Greetings one and all and welcome back to another National Narrow Gauge Convention. In 2021 it was held in Hickory, NC and I am very glad I attended. I am a bit rusty on this whole forum posting business let alone NNGC postings. The last one I attended was in 2018 in the twin cities in Minnesota.

Here is a photo of the Best Of Show at Hickory, NC. The model was scratch built by Don Railton.

This year I opted not to lug around a heavy DSLR and instead made pretty much all my photos with my iPhone. Therefore, this is going to prove interesting. I'll post more photos as I get them all together. If you want to review past conventions please head on over to my website www.narrowperspective.com for a look.

Jaime,
I am glad that you had a good time and thank you for the coverage. Does the "Best of Show" look familiar?

Here are some photos of the Diorama entries. I'm having to transfer these from my iPhone to my laptop so if I find more entries I'll post them later.

Hi Bob.
Don Railton's work is quite distinct. His "signature" is evident so perhaps that is why there is a familiar look to it. Or maybe this model has appeared elsewhere. I've been out of the "loop" for a while so I may have missed it if featured elsewhere. Pretty cool model nonetheless.

Sure did miss you at the show. There were some really nice layouts on tour. I managed to make it to 3 super nice ones. I'll get to those later.

It's my pleasure to share them, Dennis. I've seen others sharing their photos on the facebook as well.

Here is the Favorite Train category. I must confess this is not at all my favorite category out of all the contest categories. The reason why is these are hard to photograph due to their length. It's hard to get all the train in one frame and when you do there is so much other noise around the main subject. Nevertheless, here is the Second Place winner, Tom Sullivan.

I am searching high and low for the first and third places and well, my silly iPhone doesn't always transfer all the photos in order to my laptop. Oh well, it's just toy trains. I'll sort it all out eventually.
