ACL1504

Morning all,

Thank you all very much for the support on Tuesday's post. The messages and emails were very much appreciated.

The heart catherization didn't go as I hoped. I have an MRI scheduled now for September 30 to determine the actual damage to the heart. I was born with a two flap aortic valve instead of the normal three flap valve. This valve has become damaged through the years. This caused my heart to work harder over the years and the inner lining of heart has grown thick with muscle. Its like working your biceps, the more you work them the bigger muscles get.

So, the MRI will show whether I'll need just a stent to fix the problem or a double bypass.

I'll know more after the MRI in two weeks.

In the mean time, I have an empire to and structures to build.

Have a great day ya'll.

Good Morning Tom and all who follow,

Of course we're all hoping and praying for the least invasive solution for your issue Tom.  That's one I've never heard of but that's not saying much because I'm sure there's a lot I've never heard of.  They can do some amazing things these days so I have faith you'll be back up to full steam in no time.

Nothing on the workbench front to report.

Have a great one!

Morning. Hoping all the best for you Tom! Gonna try to make it to George's Saturday even if it's just for an hour.

Had colon cancer examination today whereby they took away 2 polyps , small ones that could be taken away using the endoscope, so probably nothing to worry about. Very happy that we have a population survey every 2 years once you've passed 55, where some blood was found . Costs nothing and prevents worse damage .

Wishing you the best of luck Tom.
I love photo's, don't we all.

Thanks for update Tom;

I know the waiting is often the worse part. Here is hoping for a stent. As for myself I am knee deep in installing the FSM sawmill on the museum layout. Let's just say the project has grown.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Good morning!  On & off rain today, so indoor activities are on the agenda.  Haven't touched the layout for over a week....way overdue.  Thoughts & prayers sent your way Tom.

Getting old ain't no fun, huh Tom?
The alternative scares the daylights out of me though!
Think happy thoughts for the balance of the day all.

I hope everything works out fine for you Tom. Great save for Jan as well. I am working on all ten buildings of FOS Caldwell Junction for a future exhibition layout. I have already scratch-built the Caldwell Engine House whilst Reading Bob was building it for Cuse. They should look nice altogether on one board with an extra fiddle yard to allow engine movements.

On other news I am training to be a volunteer Travelling Ticket Inspector on the historic West Somerset Railway. This is the longest preserved steam railway in the UK at 22.75 miles. I am on my fourth trip tomorrow when I will ride 6 trains. The job entails watering up the buffet car and onboard toilets and generally preparing the 7-car coach set for the passengers. Labelling up coaches for bus groups, checking tickets, supplying the loco crew with drinks, liasing with passengers and signalling safe departures from stations in conjunction with the Guard (Conductor). Menial jobs include clearing tables of rubbish and flushing the toilets before putting the stock to bed for the night. Yesterday a married couple ended up at the wrong end of the line on the last train of the day. Luckily I was going in their direction and could give them a lift to their car! I really enjoy the experience and I know I am retired but it is nice to give something back to the community.

Morning,
Power restored this morning at 5am after going out at 6pm last night.
Car accident took out or damaged several utility poles north of us at a new solar farm construction site so it was a peaceful evening in the dark.
