Crisp, clear start to the day.

Good morning Jerry and John and everyone coming in on the arrival track,

Yesterday was beautiful late fall weather. We got the outside decorations up (and working!). Bought a Christmas tree and got it into the stand with water to drink all night.  Decorating it today.

Busy time at work. Since I'm retiring in two months, I'm involved in the search for my replacement. Interviewed an excellent candidate on Friday and we subsequently invited her to visit campus next week.  Between the search and holiday preparations, not much time left for modeling right now.  But that's ok--I'll make up for it later.

Morning,

Another drive to Ottawa to return my daughters cat. So much drama!

Good Morning All,

Only thing on the agenda today is in the layout room (psst...don't tell my wife!). Dad has to get a pacemaker but that will be in January sometime.

Best wishes to you Tom tomorrow.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Morning all,

Best wishes going out for Tom.

The dryer search was a success yesterday.  Apparently, washers and dryers are available.  We bought a set that will be delivered on Saturday.   :P  The salesperson told us refrigerators and ovens are affected by the supply chain woes.

Looking forward to some workbench time today and tomorrow.

Have a great one!

Yesterday I spent the entire day redoing part of my SketchUp model, after a very helpful tutoring session with Ed Traxler.  Mid afternoon I got stuck, so I tapped Ed's knowledge again.  But that was successful (despite several really annoying bugs.  The worst one happened just before I completed, when all of a sudden -everything disappeared-.  Fiddling with various 'camera views' finally revealed the model.  Then I went to do something to it, and it disappeared again.  I worked around that by copying the model and pasting it into an entirely new project...)

Probably holiday activities for today, if my wife is up to it.

Bob, that kinda makes sense.  People did more baking and eating during the pandemic, but since no one went out, they needed to do less laundry :-)

GOOD LUCK, TOM!

Morning, all.

I forgot to tell you that yesterday, Bob, that washers/dryers seemed to be generally available.  Our washer was delivered in less than a week, but the dryer did take 3 weeks.  I got a lot accomplished yesterday, but nothing train related.  Need to take a trip to the grocery store this morning.

Afternoon all,

Yep, I'm ready to get this done and over.

I spent the morning finishing The Pub Crawl build, update on the thread later this afternoon.

Not much else going on here. Have a great day.

Afternoon check in today,
We had snow last night, not as much as the North Shore 2 hours North of us...they had 18 inches in some places..
The few inches of snow will be frozen tonight up as the temps drop to zero by tomorrow morning.
30 MPH winds that are coming will make things bitter cold here. Sounds like modeling weather.
Tom good luck with everything tomorrow. Photo of Pullman Jct by Robert Daly on the south side of Chicago...everything is gone today...it's all automated now...
