Aftrnoon all,

I've started the FOS REA kit build on another forum but will share some of what I've done here.

I've kit bashed the structure to included new walls, interior walls in the freight house bay and a floor.

More on this later.

Greg,

I'm still trying to figure out how to post photos here.

Keep It Rusty

Tom, to add photos make sure you click "Reply" on the thread and not just use the "Quick Reply" box at the bottom. This will then present you with a "Click to drag files here to attach them" field.

Alternatively, for better layout, you can go ahead and upload them to your gallery (can be accessed by clicking on Gallery in the forum's menu). You can then simply use the link in the "Insert an image" button in the post's formatting bar (where all the emojis are etc)

Craig,

Thank you. It's all coming back to me now. I forgot about the gallery.

And, let me say again thank you for working with Jim to get us back on line. Many, many thanks.

The last structure I built was in May of '22. That was the FOS Flat Iron District.

Doug released this kit, (The R.E.A.) in the Fall of 2016 and it is still available. However, the price has gone up a little.

I have a spot for the structure but I plan to drastically change to look. Evan as an REA building, it still has that New England look. I have some ideas of how I want my building to look and I'll cover some of that later as I get to it.

I'm calling this a scratch build of sorts as I have recut all of the walls on the main structure. This is the building on the left in the photos below.

First, here is the basic kit as taken from the box. The cover photo isn't very clear.

I've spent quite some time going over the instructions and the parts. Since I'm changing the kit. I cut out and set aside the wood pieces I WILL NOT be using.

I decided to start with the main building. This building is three stories including space for an attic. Part of the lower floor houses the office.

I used a #17 Xacto blade to cut the pieces from the carrier sheets.

After the main pieces were removed, I numbered them on the rear. Not that they can get mixed up but it is just something I got in the habit of doing.

Done for today.
