Good Morning;

Looks like I am first at the club, I will get the coffee warmed up. The Boss is off with her girl friends this morning to golf and have lunch. That frees me up to get some air brushing of parts completed and watch some football this afternoon.

I woke up to cooler weather (for Florida) so can air the house out later as well. Hope everone enjoys the day.

Good morning, Jim and everyone arriving later.

Mid 20's start to the day.  My son will be here later this morning and we'll spend the day together.  He will leave to drive back to his home tomorrow morning.  I haven't seen him for a couple months, it will be good to have some face time.

I hope everyone has a safe and rewarding day!

Greetings, fine folks.

I trust all managed to snatch the best model train bargains of the year yesterday. If you haven't, several of the fine vendors we all love have sent out digital flyers with groovy discounts.

I'm hoping to glue something together before the end of the holiday weekend.

Later.

Good morning! I'm going to spend a few hours at the workbench, today.  I will have "the game" on this afternoon. I hope everyone has a great day.  How was the open house at the F&SM, yesterday - any reports.

Have a great day,

Good Morning All,

Cool start during my morning walk. I'm not sure what is on the agenda today, but I will post pictures of the completed beam crane in my layout thread later.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Afternoon, all.

Here in the UK is a very large model railroad convention this weekend. Had to miss it this year, but I'll be back for next with my stand.

Got some time designing new "things" in Fusion360. Announcement to follow.

One thing I've also spent time researching today is a NAS Drive. Essentially a hard drive that can be connected to from my various computers. Workshop laptop, desktop PC in the hobby room, laptop in the office... it will certainly streamline my day-to-day.

Eagerly awaiting open house reports. Raymo?

Morning all,

I'm going to be lazy today and spend the afternoon watching movies while working on models.  To heck with the yard work!

Have a great one!

Mornin' all...

Put my daughter's family on the road for Portland Oregon this morning.  Wow   ! ! ! !  is it quiet in here..........  ! ! !

I and a few gents have been working on a modeler's really huge railroad.  Two levels and a large peninsula in the middle.

I've been working on structures for that railroad.

Not a lot of stuff for my own RR.

Today I putzed a bit with the scenery under the big cut cliff.  I mixed up a darker shade of my normal beigy granite "dirt", by adding some dark grey "Raven" Spectra grout.  I liked the color of the dirt mix.  But the color of the underlying paint and glue was too light.  So after talking to my "color consultant" (wife has a fine arts degree in oil painting), I mixed up a darker base paint/glue mixture.  The plan is to vacuum up the loose dirt, touch up the areas where the dirt didn't stick with the darker dirt-colored paint, and reapply the dirt.  Repeat as necessary....

(if you're interested, I added black and some burnt umber to the beige colored paint.  Small amounts of each made a big difference in the color of the paint & white glue mixture.

Then I came back upstairs, trimmed the leftover turkey, and made turkey tetrazzini...  I'll do turkey soup tomorrow, but we'll actually eat something non-turkey for tomorrow's dinner.

I've seen good sales offers from Scenic Express, Tichy, and SS Ltd.  Of course, I did a big Scenic Express order a couple weeks ago before starting the current scenery push.
