Morning all,

Breakfast is on the table. Pancakes, Waffles and French Toast and of course maple syrup. Fruit bowl as well if not interested the carbs. Coffee, tea and OJ along with your choice of Diet drinks on the other table.

Still feel like I've been kicked in the stomach but also feel much better this morning. I'm gong to see how long I can work on a model at the bench this morning.

Four more days until Santa Claus stops by.

Stay safe, warm and healthy and have a great day ya'll.

Morning all,

Glad to hear you're recovering, Tom.

A brisk fifteen degrees here this morning.  We won't break freezing.

Starting on the tarpaper roofs on the FSM build, hope to continue that today.

Need to start checking the layout for issues as my train running grandson will be here next week.

Morning Tom, thanks for opening and glad to hear you're continuing to recover.  Howdy Jeff, seems you've fully recovered, and Greg's up too. We got a trace of snow last night, enough to 'track a cat'.  But it'll be a cold weekend, high today predicted to be 28, low tonight down to 8.  Might be too cold for Scotch Club this afternoon.

Yesterday I did mortar wash on the Lamson wall panels, today I'll see if I like the result.  They didn't come out quite as I expected, but I think they'll look OK.  Then I guess I could start test fit and careful sanding for assembly.  Or i could spend lots of time glazing all the window castings...

Morning all,

Happy to see you're on the road to recovery, Tom!  Ditto that for Jeff as well.

Today is my better half's birthday.  It's one of the big ones but I won't say which one.  ::)

I've been ordered to vacate the premises so she can wrap my X-mas presents so I'm leaving to have lunch with friends shortly and then do a little shopping.

Have a great one!

Morning Folks;

Tom glad to hear you are getting back on your feet! Good to hear Jeff is up and running at full steam too!  Things are fine in Central Florida this weekend before Christmas. My bride and I decided to treat ourselves to a pool so that takes care of Christmas and a few birthdays!

I've been dithering on the flour mill project this past week, time to get serious and move it along. I want to get back to working on the layout in the new year. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Ola,

Today I have been working on building the stud walls for the center platform "room within a room".  Taking a break to watch some CFP this afternoon.  Mostly giving my back a break.

Next I will build the 6 floor trusses for the center platform floor. I have planned for the floor to be 28" tall, but I am second guessing as I do the math.  For the floor to be at 28", with 3/4" T/G subflooring the top of the floor trusses need to be 27 1/4" tall.  With 2x4 bottom and top plates (ie 1 1/2" each) the 2x4 supports need to be 24 1/4" tall.  This would waste a lot of 2x4s (3 per 8ft versus 4 per 8ft if I make the supports 24" tall). So if I use 24" tall supports the floor will be 27 3/4" tall. Which is probably ok, because.....  there will be 2x2 carpet tiles on the floor which are about 1/4" thick making for a 28" floor height.  24" tall supports it will be....  :)
