Ron great start with the terraforming. I've never used sculpamold either; I usually just use drywall plaster in small applications.

My experience is that the drywall plaster develops cracks when applied either too thick and or covering too large of an area.  In small applications I've had no issues.  Because I was covering a larger area, I decided to try something new, at least for me.

An excellent use of Ai. It's a wonderful tool for doing exactly what you are doing. Create the scene in Ai and then use it as an inspirational picture to model it on the layout.

I started using Ai after resisting it last October in 2025. It has greatly improved my structure planning and building. We currently have 3 scenery projects on a layout representing the Michigan UP. By using Ai the team building the scenes sees the vision and while it won't be a duplicate it ties everything together keeping the team on the same wave length.

I also use the scene Ai created and ask for a color and product breakdown. Have fun

Rick, I'm currently using ChatGPT, which I pay a monthly fee for ($25.00CDN monthly) and Claude.ai, which I use the free version for now.

TomO, I'm a visual person, so having a a picture to work from really helps my modeling.  I've been using it a lot lately to get scenery ideas.  I have also been using it lately to develop some difficult coding for arduino's.  I still have a lot to learn, but I'm having fun with it.

Which did you use to make the mock-up of the mountain.
I tried using the free Claude to design an engine house but didn't get very far.
I think I'll start a thread on using AI to generate images of things we'd like to model.
