Keep It Rusty

Morning all.

In response to the requested features, I've added a new section for the forum called "The Roundhouse". This is the place for all those looking to discuss specific gauges - with the most popular added already. I have also taken the opportunity to tidy away some old boards that have grown obsolete. Importantly, none of these boards and their content have been deleted.

If there are any other scales or gauges you want adding here, just let me know and it'll be considered!

Enjoy your weekend!

Morning Craig and others drifting in,

Thank you for adding the Roundhouse, much appreciated. Let's see who uses it and how often.

This morning's breakfast is served. Biscuits with sausage gravy. Grits and hash browns on the side. Sodas, coffee and fresh Florida squeezed OJ on the other table.

Today is the first SBG for 2025. However, anyone in the area is welcome to stop by. We do get caught up on world events, talk trains, models and we also do a fair share of SBG BSing. Lunch at our favorite watering hole later where the BSing continues.

Have a safe, warm and healthy day ya'll.

Good morning,

Ended up getting around 4-5" of snow yesterday before it turned to sleet/frozen rain.

Been working on benchwork this morning.

Otis loves playing in the snow and eating it as well.

Going to continue working on benchwork today.

Have a great day y'all!

Good morning from So. Central Wisconsin where maybe another 1/4" of snow has fallen. It's 24f degrees now and very similar to yesterday in that we should top out in the low 30's.

The grandson plays hockey in the local arena this morning, so that's a must, I'll go alone. Later in the afternoon we will watch some of the #1 ranked Badger Women's hockey team play Minnesota State. On TV today as we have another comedy show at the Capital Theater within the Overture Center for the Arts in Madison. If Terry decides not to go, one of her good friends who also is my Endocrinologist will come along. We will be on campus tomorrow, if Terry feels ok for game #2 or I take the G/S or G/D!

The procedure to help reduce the pain of Terry's Trigeminal Neuralgia went ok yesterday. She should know some more today. She is propped up in bed sleeping I think pretty soundly. The nurses after midnight left her alone and she fell to sleep in bed before I did in the recliner at about 1am. I'm uncomfortable and when we get home this morning one of the daughter's neighbors will stay with her at the house while I go to the G/S hockey. The doctor encouraged her yesterday to go to the comedy show this evening! Said if the procedure worked she'll be feeling good by mid-afternoon. The doctor will repeat the procedure on 1/21. Hope this works!

No train time today

Wisconsin Interstate #4022 a newly repainted rebuilt Gp40-2L crosses Bull Junior creek just north of the papermill in Mosinee Wi. I promised my self I'd operate the unit 6 months on the layout before weathering it. It's only been 3 months but the units needs some grime...

Steady snow in mid central lower Michigan continues this morning. Probably 3-4" or so. I'll probably have to go out and clean off the 325' drive later. No hurry to go anywhere though. Few 9-1-1 traffic alerts on the text yesterday so the drivers seem to be getting retrained well.

Did an old shake the box Branchline kit yesterday, Oppenheimers Sausage Casings.

Stay safe everyone.

Good Morning Folks;

TomO, sounds like you are dealing with a lot hope Terry can make that show with you. As for myself it should be a slow day. While the temp outside is not to bad at 60 degrees (15.5C to the vast majority of the world) it is cloudy and rather damp. Plan to clean the work area and either work on my flour mill project or do some computer design work for the rolling bridge project. Suspect a nap in afternoon will happen as well. So no complaints and hope everyone has a great day.

The photo of the day is a 1900 Arch light.  I like to collect these photos for ideas on my projects, you never know when you might use it and they sure give a flavor for the time.

Morning crew from a cool Western New York morning. had some snow overnight, nothing major, an inch maybe. I'll have my second cup of coffee. Already had breakfast. Took out coal ashes and cleaned off some snow and feed the birdies.

After checking the forums I'll be reorganizing my collection of Model Railroad magazines. They range from 1962 to into the 2000's. And then hopefully some bench time.

Tomorrow it's off early to Batavia, New York to help my friend Dan at the Great Batavia Train Show. Got some cash stashed away. Never know I might find something I need.

Stay warm and safe.

Good Morning

Thanks for adding the roundhouse. I'll check it out.

I printed a few radial wave type light shades for my layout and still need to install them. I made several different bends and diameter brass poles. Attached an STL in 1/48th.

Have a great day.
