Howdy Curt,

Nice work on the roofing, but sad to have to cover those rafters.  Looking forward to the head frame build.

Have fun,

Afternoon All,

Thank you Terry, Mike, Larry, Jeff, Rick, Jerry, Greg, and Tom for following along and your kind words.

Today I finished the 1st side frame for the headframe.

One thing I found strange was that the truss rods are put in on the inside of the glued legs and don't go all the way through like on the tipple legs.

For something that looks very complicated when looking at it, the directions are actually fairly easy to follow.

I did have a head scratcher about what strip wood to use at one point until it clicked that the skinny side was out. ???

Curt,

Is it me or is the head frame looking a little flat? ;D  That is one fine piece of engineering there with all the cross members and rods.  Looks great.

Afternoon All,

Thank you Jerry, Mark, Philip, Rick, Larry, Tom, and Ron for following along and your kind words.

I have been working on the headframe since the last update. I think I've completed the wooden part of it. The next steps involve the white metal detail parts then the last thing to do is the NBW's.

Curt, it's looking good.
Must have been tedious and time consuming cutting all those angles on the cross members.

Nice work on the head frame.  I like those tie rods and look forward to the hardware for the lift cage.

Curt,

That's one fine model . . . and it's not even finished.  Everything fits so well, and the wood texture is fantastic.
