Good Morning Folks;

Thought I would check in and say hi. Wife and I are off to Florida panhandle for weekend, meeting up with son and family from Toledo, weather is great so should be great. I have just been fiddling with modeling this past week, using 3D printer to make batches of accessories like shovels, hammers and such for detailing down the road. I put each in tray unpainted ready for when needed.

Congratulations to the winners of the Winter Challenge. Some really fine workmanship was shown and the models look great.

Next week I plan to start work on completing the Miami-Erie canal scene. It has been waiting for three years so guess it is time. At the rate I work it should take me balance of year to complete. First up will be complete design of two rolling bridges, I hope to make them operate but we will see.Well Rick enjoy that fresh air and the hike, I am going to hike to the car and head to Panama City.

Plenty more to do with it. Was just a test fit.

Did I post this earlier?  https://davebarry.substack.com/p/tariffs  I'll never look at a map of Florida the same way after reading this.  (Dave Barry column, includes discussion of 'male medical exam')

Jim,
Our favorite dinner time diversion is reruns of MASH. You aren't by any chance meeting up with Corporal Max Klinger from Toledo are you?
Working on my second million. I gave up on the first.

Bunch of kinfolk in the Panama City area. Wheeler dealer, name dropping, Uncle Calvin et al built half of PCBeach. He was the stereotypical Southern Patriarch white linen suit and all... :o

Easy day and a relaxing weekend ahead and hope the same to all here.

Possibly a Sunday treat of Kahlua pie with an Oreo crust, yummy. I've always been glad that Pegi isn't a baker or I'd have to weigh myself on an industrial scale.....I can see more gym hours in my immediate future if she comes thru this weekend..... :(

Good afternoon, folks,

Tom, thanks for opening.  Hope you enjoyed the smell of fresh-cut grass.

Rick, thanks for the coffee and breakfast.  Terrific campsite.

Larry, it's hard to beat outdoors in that type of weather.  Enjoy.

Ron, safe travels tomorrow.

Jerry, we are men! We only do what we want to do, though our wives mostly tell us what we want to do.

Jim, thanks for stopping by.  You remind me that I need to fire up the printer, too.  Good luck with the canal scene.

Karl, the station is looking good.  Will you paint it green to match your text?  ;)

How is the rest of the gang?

It was another bright morning with nice temperatures in the low 80s. I started the day by taking my annual physical. The appointment went well, and I am still here. However, I was number 16 on the waiting list for the lab. Ugh.

This afternoon finds me upstairs working on the bridge.  I am staining a carload of wood that comes in the kit.  The tie and stringer assembly is on my desk now.  Having fun.

Have fun,
mike

Good evening from Friday in Wisconsin. Lots of rain since midnight with hail at times

Rick, I completely forgot about Bruce's YouTube videos. BurleyJim is who I was thinking of. Most of the rest of the regular crew seems to have migrated here

I am spending less and less time online. With the NHL playoffs starting Saturday I will be spending even less time. I'll be watching the games and during intermissions instead of using the IpadPro I will do my annual making of wire tree armatures

Not much going on, thankfully. The medical issues have quieted down. Tomorrow (and I agreed to this) we are going clothes shopping. We have a wedding on 5/24 in Pasadena. Dress is California Casual with a touch of Vintage. Yeah, what the F does that mean? Beyond that I'm told by the wife and daughter my current attire is not going to Maui on May 7th. We will be there 5/7 to 5/21 and back again 5/26 to 6/5 or later.

The doctor appointment for me was good this morning and ok for Terry's yesterday. Nothing earth shattering

The only modeling I'll do on Maui is tree building. I have everything packed except for the armatures. I want at least 250 twisted together by 5/1 because that is when I am shipping the package. If I don't I'll take what's twisted. I am not packaging up my wire measuring templates or my twisting tools.

The bar is open! There is a low roaring fire in the fireplace. Buffalo Trace brewery in Kentucky may still be surrounded and partially flooded but the booze must be on dry ground. The Eagle Rare is out but look behind the bar for anything different. The popcorn shakers are loaded for the open fire but it's too soon at 7:26pm CDT for me.

Enjoy the evening

Howdy Tom, Glad things are going your way.  I'll take a Bombay Sapphire martini with habanero habanero-stuffed olive or two...  Thank you kindly, Sir.  Have fun, mike

TomO, glad all is well at the doctors.

I'll have a finger of the Eagle Rare.
Thanks.

Jerry

Tom glad to hear you and Terry are doing well.

I'll have two fingers of the Eagle Rare.  Thanks for the fire and the bar!

Morning all,

Breakfast is ready for those who may be hungry this early. I have cheesy scrambled eggs with bacon, sausage links and sliced honey baked ham. Crispy home fries as well. Fruit bowl for those cutting back. All drinks are on the other table.

The Judge is coming over to run trains and we have a few decoder decisions to make.

Good to hear Tom and Terry are doing well on the medical front.

Like Tom, I cutting back my on line time and getting things done that don't require me to be on line for hours a day.

Have a safe and healthy day everyone.

Morning Gents,

Tom thanks for the coffee and breakfast. Have to say you're up early and
have fun with the Judge. Yup the internet can suck up a lot of time if you let it.

Tom O nice to hear the medical issues are minimal.

Philip hope you and Gina are feeling better.

What's your plans for the day?

It's a cloudy and rather warm 69, haven't said that in months, with a high of 74 in New York. May have storms later as a cold front moves through; hopefully the power stays on. Had a nice surprise yesterday, the wood I ordered on Wednesday am showed up @ 2pm so now I can continue with my current build. Other than a little bench time not much else going on here except for getting a few things together for Easter dinner tomorrow.

Have an enjoyable day!!! Be well and stay safe.

Glad to hear folks' medical problems are on the mend.  I swapped messages last night with a friend/former co-worker.  He found out his brain tumor is benign and operable...
