Very late morning all,

Rick, that was quite the hike. Enjoyed the video. I was out of breath just watching.  8)

Thanks for the well wishes on my leg surgery. It turned out to be more extensive than the doctor or I thought. The skin cancer was on my shin just above my ankle. The Doctor was a MOH surgeon. MOH surgeon is one that can cut out the cancer and do the path on the sample and then come back and take more skin if necessary. Well. to sum up it was extensive and left me a little stunned at how much was removed. The shin bone hasn't enough skin to pull together to close the site. It was left open to heal from the inside. I've been in bed with my leg propped up since Monday afternoon. I change the dressing twice daily for the next month. It should be healed within six weeks.

I'll get back to the bench later today or tomorrow afternoon. A build update Sunday afternoon.

Hope all had a great week. Have a great rest of today.

Best with that recovery, Tom. That procedure is a rough go but best outcomes from it I've heard.

Good to have a hobby like we do for some distraction

Tom I hope your feeling better.  And hope the recovery goes quickly.

Tom, hope you heal well and don't need a skin graft.  Don't overdo it.

Morning all,

Breakfast this morning is ready. Cheesy Scrambled Eggs and Sausage Gravy Biscuits and a mixed fruit bowl for those cutting back. Coffee, OJ, Passion Fruit Drink and of course Diet Pepsi and Diet Dr. Pepper on the end.

Thanks to all for the well wishes. The leg is healing nicely and I can already see the hole closing. No skin graft was necessary. Been there and done that as well, even have the T-shirt.

The Judge is coming over this morning for some train time. We have some things to discuss so not sure how much train running there will be.

Curt, I hope your dad is doing well and home soon.

Have a safe, warm and healthy day everyone.

Rick

Good morning everyone.

Lake Isabella weather: Sunny, with a high near 69.

ACLTom, thanks for the coffee and breakfast.
Sounds like you're doing well and have fun running trains with the Judge.

Karl, nice photo of your flock and keep the track busy.

Mike, love the cartoon and are the shed walls together?

Curt, hope Dad continues to improve and are you going to Tom's today?

TomO, have fun weathering those containers.

Jerry, anything new at the bench?

Larry, hope you're getting bench time.

Ron, getting excited about the Florida trip?

Greg, Terry, Philip and everyone else looking in, hope you are all well.

Didn't do much here yesterday except explore the area around the campsite.
In the morning Star gave me a heck of a scare.
She was off leash as usual and I lost track of her.
I wandered around for almost a half hour calling for her but no sign of her.
I was getting scared.
I made my way back to the van and guess who's there waiting for me?
In the afternoon we walked around some more and I found Keysville Beach on the shores of the Kern River.
I shot a shot video there and uploaded it if anyone wants to see.
Star and I will do a short hike today and then find a new spot to camp.

A view from the Kern River Trail hike.

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning folks,

Tom, thanks for opening, coffee, and breakfast.  All on a busted leg, too.  ;)

Rick, that must of been a horrible scare, just like a kid running off in the mall.  Enjoy your hike today.

Visited with my Sister yesterday, so didn't make it upstairs.  I hope to spend the best part of today up there.

Have fun,
mike

Good Morning All,

Thanks for opening and breakfast Tom. I'm glad to hear you are doing well.

Started out the day with a walk at 45F and calm so it wasn't bad bundled up. Today Dad is supposed to be discharged from the hospital. It almost happened yesterday but the home O2, the home visit nurse and some test results didn't come together.

The O2 and nurse is now set up and just waiting on the test results so the doctor knows whether to prescribe 3 or 6 days of IV antibiotics at home (reason for nurse).

I'm hoping the O2 will be temporary since in April we're flying to Seattle for a Alaska cruise.

Rick sometimes I envy you your lifestyle but in reality I'm a homebody. I do enjoy seeing your adventures. Bad Star but good ending.

Well, that's enough blabbing for now.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Morning Gents,

Morning Mike.

Tom thanks for the coffee and breakfast; can't go wrong with that breakfast.
Enjoy your train time just don't overdue and hope you heal quickly.

Rick so glad Star's ok; I couldn't imagine what was going through your mind.

Curt hope Dad makes it home soon and does well.

What's the rest of you up to?

It's 22 with a high of 35 then warming up through Thursday. We have a leak around the back window
and for the life of me I didn't know why then it hit me @ 3am....the edge of the metal roof has formed an "ice damn" not allowing any water from running off. So shortly I'll get out the ladder and "pepper" the edge with rock salt and let it sit for a couple of hours. I'm pretty sure when I knock the ice off there'll be
a rush of water coming off; that should hopefully slow down the leak or stop it altogether. Not sure about
the bench yet again.

Have a great day!! Be well and stay safe.

Good morning Crew!

Karl, great pictures, even the curved switch!

Mike, great cartoon! I feel or wonder that often but it's mainly when I enter the kitchen.

Tom, best wishes on what reads like a good recovery. Please tell me you were under a local and just ignored the procedure and didn't watch!

Curt, I honestly think that after a certain age we all could use the extra oxygen. Best to your dad on his recovery

Rick, I am enjoying and liking the pictures you are posting on FB. Any thoughts yet of settling in somewhere?

It's +11f degrees in my little section of Wisconsin. Looks like a nice day where the weather app says we will break the freezing mark.

Enjoy
TomO
