Morning Greg.

Weather in South Jersey is sunny/52.  Later on 60.
Yesterday we went to the local park for a nice walk with Izzy.
Today will pick a new spot to go for a walk.
Dinner out with friends tonight.
Nothing from the bench to busy with sunshine.

I know I've got to get some more time in modeling before the beach starts calling us!!

Where's Ron??  He seems to be taking work to serious of late!!

Everyone have a great day!!  :)

Good Afternoon from HOT Jacksonville Florida where the current temperature is 76F.  :o  I'm guessing this is much better that the single digits I left from.  ;D

Drive down was pretty uneventful and moving into my apartment went well with the rental furniture arriving just before 10am this morning and unpacking my car.  Internet service is now hooked up and working.

Next I need to go to wally's world o pick up some essentials like a monitor, keyboard, mouse, printer, shower curtain etc., stuff that will not make the trip back up north when the project is completed.  Then it is off to the grocery store.  It's probably going to take a couple of days to get everything setup.  The joys of moving.

Have a great day everyone.

Quote from: deemery on February 26, 2025, 09:10:10 AMKarl, did Cracker Barrel institute an egg surcharge?  I noticed egg prices have come down a bit since last week.

dave
Saw no notice regarding price at the Barrel :o

Locally eggs have some deep crisis status as a huge, really huge, local producer has had to take drastic measures due to the flu as well as our state declared eggs must be "cage free" as of first of this year. 40 Million birds they have lost if not more. They're hoping for a vaccine to be developed.

We try to find small flock growers eggs. $5-$8 is going rate. Eggs currently here have yolks almost BNSF orange :) and good sized. Just 1 was plenty for me this morning

Good morning folks,

Coffee's on and other drinks are in the fridge.  Breakfast today is a simple farmer's breakfast in a skillet.  Eggs, cheese, ham, onions and peppers make up the dish.

Karl, good luck with the curve alignment.

Dave, what did you find out about the egg surcharge?

Jim, great photo of you and the gang on a bike ride.  Where did you find those hats?

TomACL, hope the lanes are better next time.

Philip, that is a real problem, where to start.  Just pick one.

Gregory, have a great one.

Jerry, wishing you a great walk today.

Dave, hope you have a terrific day.

Ron, uneventful drives are the best.  Welcome to the south.

How goes the rest of the crew?

It's 50F this morning headed to 71F.  I'll take it.

Had good luck at the bench yesterday.  I can see weathering in my future.

Have fun,
mike

Good morning everyone.

Sequoia NP weather: 51 now and 63 later with some clouds.

Mike, thanks for the coffee and breakfast.
Glad good things are happening at the bench.

Karl, I forgot to mention when I was at Costco a couple of days ago there was a line of at least 50 shoppers waiting to get to the dairy area to get eggs.
Cage free eggs are a waste of money.
I only buy free range eggs.
Getting them from a local farmer is the best.

Ron, glad you arrived safely and sounds like you're getting settled in.

Jerry, can't blame you for wanting to enjoy the outdoors and nice weather.

Philip, did you get all those things done?

ACLTom, sorry about your friend and hope you had a great dinner with Pam.

Greg, good morning.

Jim, thanks and glad you're enjoying the pictures.
How long did it take you to learn to ride the penny farthing?

TomO, hope Terry made it home safely.

Larry, the home across the street all put together?

Hope everyone else out there is well.

Did a nice hike yesterday seeing the huge sequoias.
Whole trail was covered with frozen slippery s$#@ but using my micro spikes made walking easy.
Another hike planned for today.

This is the General Sherman Tree. It is not the tallest tree here but is the largest in volume. It is 275' tall, 102.6' circumference at ground, estimated age of 2,300–2,700 years, and an estimated mass of 2,105 short tons.

Have a great day everyone.

Morning Mike and others,

Thanks for the southern style skillet breakfast, very tasty.

I noticed some restaurants have an egg surcharge and others don't, at least not yet.

Ron, how long will you be in Jacksonville?

Pam wants to go practice bowling today, I want to sit at the play, errr I mean work bench. When I played golf, I adhered to Ben Hogan's theory. When you play bad, play and when you play good, practice. That way you practice good habits. For me in bowling, I just don't want to go today. I wonder who will win that argument? I guess I'll get ready to practice bowling.

Dinner with Pam was perfect.

Have a safe and healthy day everyone.

Thanks for the coffee Mike. Had to install a set of stabilizer links on Gena's car yesterday. Made it to the modeling project late last night and added the mortar lines to the piers.

Sore from the tiny auto project yesterday.

Have a great day all!

Good Morning All,

Thanks for opening and breakfast Mike. Have fun with the weathering today.

Started out the day with a walk at 57F and calm. Yesterday I got about 90 minutes at the workbench in between everything with Dad. The headframe has 4 sides now. Next up is adding the truss rods (already weathered).

Today is floor day. :( I think MOH is taking Dad to get a new computer chair.

Tomorrow MOH leaves for a 2 day skunk show with daughter. Dad has a VA appointment mid morning and I have my annual eye exam at the same time at the same facility. Probably no workbench tomorrow.

That's enough blabbing.

I hope everyone has a good day.

:o Sheesh....it's me again!

Moderate fog and 340 in S. Central Lower Mid Michigan...a goodly amount of our snow is gone, sublimated off into space.  Forecast(wild a$$ed guess) is for sun, clouds, rain and snow if I read their icon on the hour by hour chart right.  ::)

The Doll had a visit from her grand daughter yesterday and I took care of running the taxes over to the preparer then took the Toyota in for service, 200400 miles and running right along.  Had a call from the tax folks yesterday evening, asking a question and I need to drop off two numbers for them.  Pretty simple return so we should get them filed soon.

My SPARTANS left the Maryland Turtles stuck in the mud last eve.  Game winner was from 10' before mid court at the buzzer, breaking the tie and a few hearts...never seen such a shot...the kid says they practice them all the time...

I did get the curve realigned and it turned out well.  More work down there probably later today.  No other plans yet.  We'll see what comes along.  Looks like big snow up North here in MI.

Mentioned the maple syrup is starting to be produced in the area, Maple Valley area.  Here is a look at an oil painting from my family stuff from back in Vermont where my paternals were from:

Good morning from So. Central Wisconsin where we will get to the mid 40's temperature wise today. Down about 10f degrees from the highs of the last 5 days. The snow cover is gone with just parking lot piles and shade north facing slopes.

Terry arrived last night and is in fine shape and attitude. She still has some pain management issues but says the trip invigorated her. Today she has a physical for next week's cataract surgery. She did come home empty handed as the real estate deal fizzled out over a mineral rights thing. The son will keep looking...

Other than playing chauffeur today I need to hit up the LHS as my linesmen trucks have arrived. I ordered 6 as I will weather all 6 and keep 2. When I let my client list know I had 4 available for weathering, they sold in less than 30 minutes. At the bottom is a previous truck

Enjoy the day
TomO

Larry C

Good Morning,

Looks like everyone's up early today.

Mike thanks for coffee and the vittles. Enjoy your time at the bench.

Rick that is a massive tree and hike safely today.

Tom I wouldn't "bet the farm" on winning that argument. Have fun bowling.

Philip being scrunched up under a car is a sure recipe for sore muscles; maybe
some Ibuprofen?

Curt sounds like a busy day for you.

Karl glad to hear the track realignment went well. That is an awesome portrait of
"nicer bygone days".

Tom O nice that Terry's doing better and cataract surgery nowadays is an "in & out"
procedure.

What's the plan for the day.

It's 36 with a high of 44 in New York. With the warmth the last few days most of the snow
is off the roofs. There is now a new home across the street. Spent some of yesterday watching the
process using a 18 wheel crane, and of course watching the power lines. It's a big 3 part house
I would say about 70' x 24' at least. Quite the sight seeing half a house being lifted off the frame,
hoisted probably a full story then set in place. I do have an active "honey-do list" today so that'll
keep me busy.

Have a great day!!! Be well and stay safe.

Good morning Mike, Rick, ACLTom, Philip, Curt, Karl, TomO, Larry, Greg and the rest of the crew that drops in later.

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Mike, glad you had a great day at the bench yesterday.

Rick, that is one big tree.

ACLTom, I'll be in Jacksonville for at least 8 months (probably longer), have fun bowling.

Philip, enjoy your day.

Curt, "floor Day", that doesn't sound like fun.

Karl, glad the curve realignment went well.

TomO, glad to hear that Terry seems to be doing much better.

Larry, Hop[e the "honey-do" list goes quickly.

Greg, have yourself a great day.

Weather here is currently 63F.  Ok, I'm not used to this, but somehow I don't think it will be long before I'm complaining the 50f is freaking cold.  Spent yesterday unpacking and getting the apartment set up, still lots to do.  Tonight's plan is to continue finding homes for things.

Have a great day everyone.
