Good Morning Folks;

It is great to see so many old and new faces on-line. I want to remind everyone that we have a contest underway with prizes or the top three winners. Check out the 2024 Winter Challenge Area for details. Contest goes until March 23 so plenty of time to enter.

Morning Gents,

The usual morning beverages are ready and waiting. Breakfast is assorted
pastries and bagels with various cream cheeses; enjoy.

What's going on today?

It's 29 with a high of 43 in New York; break out the lawn chairs and cooler.

Grocery shopping and a couple of errands this am. Beyond that not sure but maybe
some bench time since yesterday I became distracted with other stuff.

Have a great day!!!! Be well and stay safe.

Good morning folks,

Coffee is on as well as hot water for tea.  Soft drinks are in the fridge.  For breakfast we have a western omelet loaded with tomatoes, onions, peppers and cheese.  For lighter fare cereal is on the counter, too.

Ron, that is miserably cold.  Wow.  I'm looking forward to the bridge.

Karl, you gotta love those old movie classics like The Tall Men.  Stay warm up there.

Jerry, wishing you relief from that cold.  Now is the time to rest.

Philip, have you finished the bins?

Jim, thanks for the reminder.  Those winners from last year are exceptional builds.

How is the rest of the crew?

It's a cold 36F this morning, but headed to 73F this afternoon.  Clear skies promise a nice day.

Yesterday, I spent modeling time adding photos to the gallery for the Buffalo Canyon Mining Company build thread.  I'll miss all the constructive and attaboy comments, but most folks will still see the build sequence.

In other news, I received an email from a Canadian vendor saying my hobby order was subject to the 25% tarriff.  That's a pretty steep increase. I thought I had dodged the tarriff since I ordered it before tarriff began. Sadly, he stated the tariffs are incurred when the shipment is received in the US starting on February 4, 2025. In other words, you will get charged the fee based on when the item is delivered in the US not when it was ordered.

What on your bench?

Have fun,
mike

Good Morning All,

Thanks for opening and the 2 breakfasts Larry and Mike. That blows Mike. We might get trapped by that also, MOH ordered us new phones that are supposed to arrive Friday. >:(

It's 66F and very foggy here this morning. After animal chores and laundry I'll head to the train room. MOH just let me know the drywall people will be here Thursday by 0900. ;D Not a lot to report here today. It's pretty much just another Monday in the life of a retiree.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Morning all,

Thanks for breakfast Larry. I'll take a plain bagel with cream cheese. I'll also have a Western Omelette Mike.

Thanks for all the well wishes for my cousin. We spent a lot of time and adventures while growing up in Central Fl. prior to Disney ruining the area. His sister told me has has already lost 25 lbs.

I'm working on the flat iron today.

Have a great day ya'll.

Good morning Larry, Mike Curt, Tom and the rest of the crew that drops in later.

Wow, plenty of choice this morning, thanks for the coffee and breakfast Larry and Mike.

Larry, hope the errands go well and you find time at the bench.

Mike, glad you are bringing your construction thread over, there is  a lot of great stuff there.

Curt, have fun in the train room.

Tom, looking forward to your next update on the flatiron building.

After the weekend deep freeze it has warmed up today as it is presently -5c (23f) with snow and/or freezing rain in the forecast this afternoon, could be an interesting drive home.  Managed some time in the train room yesterday as I removed the remaining pins holding the cork roadbed in place and glued down the turnout templates onto the roadbed.  Next up will be cutting the turnout ties so length and gluing them down

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning everyone.

Borrego Springs weather: Mostly sunny, with a high near 82.

Larry, thanks for the coffee and Mike for the omelet.

Larry, have fun grocery shopping and running errands.

Mike, I guess you cancelled your order.

Ron, hope you get home safely if the roads ice up.

ACLTom, enjoy your shed time.

Curt, I guess there's light at the end of the tunnel with the plumbing project.

Jerry, hope you're feeling better.

TomO, Karl, Philip and everyone else looking in, what's new?

Did do the off road trail yesterday.
Van did well but Star's not a big fan.
I don't think she likes the bumpiness and the noises the van makes while driving.
Today I'll do one more hike before starting to head top Palm Springs.
Star won't be able to join me again because dogs aren't allowed here on the trails.

A short video of the view from my hike on Saturday.

And my view from Saturday at camp while smoking a cigar and enjoying a good coffee and the sun was starting to set.

Have a great day everyone.

Dense fog. 1/4 mi vis if that. That brings on internal fog as well ???   It is warmer today 370 going to 40 some. Wed has talk of freezing rain  :(

I worked on the NCE throttle network yesterday we then had turkey, Butterball deal about the size of a football. It was too spicy for either of us to enjoy much.

Headed to the layout later.

Enjoy all, good to see every one's smiling comments.

Good Morning and thanks for the coffee Larry!

Looks like a limb dragging, chain saw day cutting and picking up after the ice storm we had 3 weeks ago. The lawn has finally dried up. it was a sloppy mud hole with all the recent rain.

Mike,  The ore bins are done month ago. I may have lost that data a the old forum...

Good day!

I'm late to the party (I lost my keys, the wife said no, dog ate my ticket, etc.....) But it sure is a nice place.  I'll just grab some coffee and sit & listen a while.

Mike, Luckily I had some pics on my cell phone. I ended up not using that ore bin because it just wouldn't fit. Shelf orphaned.

Just finished the yard with wife and son. We have a mountain of wood on the burn pile. Tuckered out!
