A special treat of some eye candy on the Lakeshore Limited this morning passing Elkhart.

The yellow trimmed stainless car said PULLMAN on the letter boards "Pacific Union "beneath the windows. I was unable to read the markings or tailboard of the OBS. I sure loved the two NorPac obs cars. 8-)

OK, back to work at the bench.

Good morning from Wisconsin at 11:57am as I start typing.

Decent outside today again in the 50's but with wind gusts around 35mph

I am between medical visits today as is Terry as we are both doing better but a long ways from 100%. I was informed my test at 11am should happen now around 2:30 but never said why. Just it was "issues".

I am trying hard to stay off line and by eliminating my SmartNews app I reduced looking at news stories

Be well. Enjoy the day

Good afternoon folks,

Larry, thanks for the eats. Hope you made it to the bench.

Rick, glad you got the connection.  I figured you would.

Dave, congrats on the new roof and thanks for the geology lesson.

Karl, the station is looking good.  Glad ole' zero kicked over.  Cool photos...

TomACL, hope you did well on the lanes and enjoyed dinner with your friends.

Ron, good luck to your hockey team.

Philip, wishing you well and soon.  Pollen isn't helping this year.

Jerry, it must have been the sun spots again, causing the post to disappear.

TomO, wishing Terry and you health improvements.

Greggory, good afternoon to you.

How is the rest of the gang?

It was a cloudy morning, but it burned off.  It's been in the high 60s all day.  we went to eat Indian food for lunch and saw a movie (The Amateur) afterward. We have a party to attend tonight...

I did manage to start work on the second abutment.

Have fun,
mike

Good morning everyone.

Burns, OR weather: Sunny, with a high near 68.

Coffee, sodas and OJ are ready.
Blueberry pancakes with fresh churned Wisconsin butter and real Michigan maple syrup for breakfast today.
Sides of crispy bacon and sausage are out too.

Mike, how was the movie?
I'm so out of touch with what movies are out there.
Can't remember the last time I went to a movie theater.

Greg, good morning.

TomO, I understand wanting to stay off line but I get nervous when I don't hear from you guys for a couple of days.

Jerry, next time that happens try hitting the back arrow and your post should reappear.

Karl, those are some sharp looking cars.
Wonder if they were privately owned.

Philip, hope Gena and you are feeling much better.

Ron, hope your hockey team did well.

ACLTom, hope you bowled a 900 yesterday.

Dave, thanks for filling in some of the blanks on the geology.

Larry, what's on tap for today?

There's nice weather here but it's causing floods in Burns because of the rapid snow melt in the mountains.
Fortunately the where I'm at is higher in elevation so no problems here.
Soaked in the hot springs yesterday which was interesting.
Walked around and got some bird pics and a video too.
Staying here one more day.

Morning Gents,

Rick thanks for the coffee and breakfast this morning. Interesting looking bird.
From what I'm hearing the Amateur is a really good movie; sort of like McGyver on
steroids. We haven't been to a movie since the last Star Wars one; we just wait until
is comes on a streaming service.

What's happening guys?

It's 34 with a high of 43 in New York. Spitting some white crap but at least not what they're getting north of us; 2-7 inches. Old man winter just doesn't want to leave!!! Worked outside yesterday digging up. rose bush and moving it to a better location. Did mange a little bench time and maybe more today.

Have an enjoyable day!!! Those of you who are sick hope you're on the mend. Be well and stay safe.

Good morning, folks,

Rick, thanks for opening, coffee, and breakfast.  Thanks for the photos and video.  The movie was good with terrific acting and an interesting storyline.

Larry, congrats on the thorny critter relocation.  I moved a lemon tree and have scratches all over my arms from the spines.  Roses be the same.

How is the rest of the crew?

It's a bright morning at 40F, but warming to 70F.  I plan to continue the abutment construction and work on the layout.

Have fun,
mike

Morning all,

Thanks for breakfast Rick and the  OJ.

Bowling yesterday was marginally acceptable in that we took 6 out of 8  points. My bowling has been off since I returned from hernia surgery. I don't hurt but I my timing is still not where it should be when I release the ball. This to shall pass I guess.

Not much going on here but I do plan to spend some time in the train shed.

Karl, those are great coaches from the camera in Elkhart and I see some NYC in the background.

Have a safe and happy day everyone.

Good morning Rick, Larry, Mike, ACLTom and the rest of the crew that drops in later.

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Rick, glad you are avoiding the flooding.  Will have to check out your video when I get home tonight.

Larry, congrats on taking care of the thorny issue.  I also keep getting notifications about white stuff falling at home, I'm just glad to be avoiding that stuff.  ;D

Mike, have fun working in the railroad.

ACLTom, hope you have a productive day in the train shed.

Karl, not often you see vintage equipment roaming the rails theses days.

Jerry, I've had posts disappear into the either too.

Currently 65 and sunny here.  Three more days before it's "Planes, Trains and Automobiles"  Saturday I get to take the train from Jacksonville to Orlando, then a direct flight from Orlando to Ottawa where my wife is picking me up.  I'll be home for a week before I do it all again.  I did manage some bench time last night where I added the glazing to the bay windows of the Reeds Bookstore structure as well as light blocks between the floors of the bay windows.  Tonight will be watching the last game of the season where we need a win or a tie to book ourselves into the playoffs.

Have a great day everyone.

Larry be careful with those bushes they are thorny!!

Mike looking forward to your updates.

Tom have fun in the shed.

Ron hope your team make the playoffs.

Weather in South Jersey is cloudy/windy/46.
Feels more like winter than Spring out there.
We have errands to run this am.
Hopefully sometime at the bench later.  Haven't been there in two days due to yard work etc.!!!

Everyone have a great day!!  :)

That is the NYC Museum.  They recently sold their Mohawk 4-8-2 to the Fort Wayne steam group, but it's not been moved yet.

They have a decent collection of stuff, little if any restoration work being done.  I've been there, nice place, you get to wander among the (not so) livestock ::)

Good afternoon from Wisconsin. Yesterday's medical test results were to be ready for me on Thursday. They won't be so the Doctor pushed my appointment to Friday. Terry's from Wednesday are ready and we will still visit her doctor tomorrow.

Tonight we are going to see Alton Brown the guy from the Food Network. I am not sure what to expect but his show is 2 hours plus a 20 minute intermission. He is a chef, author and musician so we shall see

I have been spending time in the train room this week. The daily routine has been 1st some time on a layout project then some weathering time.

I have a couple cars left to finish up, get approved and ship.

I have 22 diesels all started! They are not due till June and July. (All 8 units for May are approved and ready to ship). Since we will be gone most of May I hope to have those 22 all done by the time we leave on the 7th.

I'm working in batches based on the colors I'm using. They all got the initial clear coat on Monday. I painted all the wheel faces the same rust color on Tuesday. Because these are all Athearn brand the side frames come off easily and hand painting the wheel faces is quick. I mix up enough paint for all 22 units plus. To get some slight color variations I pull enough paint for 4-5 units and add a drop of color. There are 22 diesels for 14 different owners so varying the colors this time wasn't that important but it's sort of the way I operate.

Fades are next

Enjoy the day

Rick I understand. I worry about the guys who didn't move over from RRL like Jim and Bruce. If something does happen the daughter has the 2 forums info I frequent and my passwords to let you know

Movie theaters. We used to go every Tuesday and some Friday afternoons before 4pm. We did that from 2014 to when Covid hit. We have not been back since
