Howdy folks,

Jerry, Larry, and Kyle thank you so much for following the build and sharing your kind comments.

Today was spent painting details including four barrels and a crate of junk.  I built a ladder for the back of the shed.  The paint for wood and rust effects takes a while between coats, so I'm looking at other tasks to do while the paint dries like cutting the base, starting on the water tower....

I can't decide whether to build the water tank base from stone, brick water, or wood.  Thoughts?

Have fun,
mike

I would think wood would be the most common base.

Stone would look better, but I think wood would be more prototypical.  Stonework is a significant investment for the builder/owner.  Railroads were often "over-capitalized" and spent money on things they shouldn't.  Industries tended to be more realistic about their investments  ;D

Beautiful work, Mike.  That's a very believable model.

Howdy folks,

I appreciate the comments from Curt, Rick, Jerry, Dave, Kyle, and Mike.  I decided to go with a stone base for the water tower.

Have fun,
mike
