Howdy folks,

Curt, thanks for following and the compliment.
Rick, thanks!  The depot is busy shipping supplies to the mines.
Jerry, thank you, Sir!
Larry, I appreciate your kind comment.
Philip, thank you for following and the comment.

Painting figures is much more time-consuming when compared to regular details.  Every clothing color is applied in three different shades: light, base, and dark.  Up close, they don't look so good, but at viewing height on the layout, they look okay.

Here is a photo of the work in progress.  I don't complete painting one figure, but paint the same color on all figures, starting with the skin.

Have fun,
mike

Rick

Mike, those look amazing!
Time consuming but well worth it.

How about taking a vacation and come here and do mine? They look awesome.

These figures are looking great, Mike.

Have you seen these?

Ian Fainges does a fantastic job of painting these, including hand carving facial hair and other details.

Mike-sorry I've not checked in...after perusing your fine work; I'm once again amazed at your skill and patience.  You have a keen eye for what works, and it shows up beautifully.....very very nice work.....makes me see that I need to try harder.....

P.S.   My mom always called my dad (much to his chagrin) 'Crumpton' when she was being affectionate or "goofing" on him.....(he loved it) ...his first name, my first name and my little brothers' first name are all COMPTON.........the last name of the M.D. that delivered all 7 of my fraternal grandmothers' children............a hundred years ago..... from 1922 thru 1944..............

Howdy folks,

I'm finally back to modeling a bit.  I had my last cataract surgery yesterday, and the wound with 18 stitches over my right eye is healing well.  Today I mounted figures and details on the depot.  Here are a couple of photos depicting the work.

My vision is still blurry, but it should improve in the next few days.  I'm looking at building a boxcar next.

Have fun,
mike
