The kit has wooden buildings attached to the stone shed.  Their construction has been my focus lately.  The first photo shows the structure's core—the second shows siding applied, minus trim, doors, and windows.






The instructions recommended stained wood for the siding, but I am not sure I like it. I could paint it a lighter color and peel some paint...

Mike, you've got some nice varied colors on the siding.
Deciding to stick with what you have or paint it a lighter color would mostly depend on how old you want it to look.

Mark, Curt, Jerry, Rick, and Rich, thank you for your comments and following along.

Today was a mix of adding siding to the attached workshop, finishing the windows and doors getting them ready for glazing, and paint.

I started with a coat of flat white paint from a rattle can. I picked out the paint to highlight stones.  I think I'll make this stone lighter in color than previous builds.  The colors are chosen and ready to go.



First, I coated all the stones with a light tan wash.



After the wash dried, I added mortar made from black acrylic paint, flow enhancer, and water.



After it dries overnight, I'll begin coloring random stones with faded colors. I may go over the stones with the light tan color again; we'll see.

The structure is looking great Mike.  I really enjoy seeing your stone work, as it always looks so realistic. You certainly have it down to a fine art with your colours, very natural looking.
