Howdy folks,

Curt, Rick, Jerry, Larry, and Michael, thank you for your encouragement.

The tank car is ready for the tank splines. I worked on the frame today, adding trucks and couplers.  I was able to adjust the coupler height.  The frame still needs truss rods.

Have fun,

Rick

Mike, that's a very good looking kit and you're doing a great job with it.

Howdy folks,

Rick, Larry, Jerry, and Philip, many thanks for your comments.  I won't use the tank car for beer; it will be for chemicals for the tannery.  I would not want to compete with Homer's Saloon.

Today was tank stave day.  I used 3M transfer tape to secure the staves to the tank form.  The trickiest part was getting the staves started and aligned correctly.

Here is the tank after the staves are applied and weathered.  The staves were scale 1"X4" wood.

Tank bands applied with a mockup of end support.

Have fun,
mike
