A big pot of gandy dancers' Thermite blend on the counter next to a plate of fresh rolls and donuts from the bakery.  Eggs, grits and some fresh sausage and biscuits top off the fare.  Iced Diet Pepsi for the FL gang and Diet Coke for me.  TomO gets his diet DocP.

It's cold, 20 when I first checked.  It's heavy grey overcast but only a light breeze.

II removed a bridge I put in a week ago, didn't look right.  I'll continue iwith layout work today.

Hope the best for all across the South today, that looks like nasty *** continues.

Be well, stay safe.

Good morning, all. The NH seacoast was in the single digits last night, but the sun is bright in clear skies and it's headed for the 20s later.  I've got a presentation to work on, not much else planned.

Good morning everyone.

Low 40's now and mid 60's later here in Kern Canyon, CA.

Star and I will do a hike later this morning.

Have a great day everyone.

I saw some posts from Janbouli today, good to see his name pop back up.

The weather north of James is the same.  The winds have died down a bit, which is A Good Thing.

Our monthly lunch group meets today, so that'll put a dent into the modeling.  That's OK, I'm kinda stuck until the LaBelle order arrives with the trucks for this build.  James and I chatted yesterday for a bit about clerestory glass.  It seems there are some differences between the Ambroid version and the Northeastern version of the wood passenger car kits.  I'm still pondering how to handle the clerestory, I need to go look at the LaBelle kits I have to see how they did it.

Morning all. Day off today for a couple of appointments. Being not to far from James, we've got the cold and sun and way to much ice in the shadows of the house. Hopefully some melting this weekend. I'll clean up around the bench in between appointments

Jim Donovan

Good Morning;

Glad the coffee is still waiting. Off to a slow start today, woke up to gray weather with chance of rain. Plan to work on taxes later but not much else on agenda. Hope everyone has a great day.

Good morning.  We're in a panic in this corner of Virginia.  We're expecting between 2" to 8" of snow and we don't have snow removal equipment since this is not a common occurrence.  I plan to fire up TurboTax, so I'll be in a bad mood today.  Maybe the workbench later to improve my disposition.

Good morning all!

Thanks for the coffee K9!

Another snow bound day. Have a good one!

Doing taxes puts me in a bad mood, too, but not as bad as it used to be.  The increased standard deduction means I don't have to dig for deductions since we're always under the standard amount.  We used to use MacInTax then TurboTax, but I decided Intuit was such a slimy company that i would have nothing to do with them.  So we used H&R Block, which is less well thought out, but the owner is less slimy.  I did good this year, I guesstimated a quarterly payment and ended up getting a $47 refund :-)

The nice thing about snow in Tidewater VA is it won't last very long...

Good afternoon from my part of Wisconsin.

Thanks Karl, another diet Dr Pepper will be enjoyable.

Got my shipment from ScaleHobbyist.com. Best pricing online I have found when you combine the product price, taxes and shipping. I buy my paint supplies there 2 times a year to order enough to amortize the shipping costs. IMOO only Michigan Toy Soldier comes close. If I need an emergency single bottle or 2 my LHS is fine but he doesn't carry the Vallejo paints I use. He does carry the Tamiya Arcylics I use but those are my base coats, fades and clear coats. Emergency Vallejo requires a quick trip to Hiawatha Hobbies at 70 miles.

It's currently +8f degrees heading to 12. The real feel of -4 actually felt pretty good when I when to the post office.

Enjoy the day

Good evening folks,

Karl, I don't think I will be able to sleep after drinking a pot of that gandy dancers' Thermite blend.   ;)

Hope everyone had a great day.

Have fun,

Thanks Dave , I have had problems with motivation , partly due to planning a move to France in two years to retire , I need to tear down my layout that I have been working on the last 12 years  , maybe more , and I can't get myself to doing it. I also have thoughts of taking parts of my layout and rebuilding them on modules so I can easily build part of my layout a bit faster when I move. Going to place a post about that somewhere else in the forum to see if anyone else has done this and have some tips for me.
I love photo's, don't we all.

That standard deduction takes a lot of work out of tax preparation.  You're right about our snow, Dave, it'll start melting tomorrow.  I'll be going to the train club Saturday.
