Rick thank you, much appreciated.

Mike thank you so much. The pipe goes under the track and will reappear between the 2 tracks with a "fueling area" of some sort. And no this one will be going to completion and will be my layout; I'll be adding more details here and there as time goes on.

Since I've gone as far as I can with the Saw Mill for now; it's back to the layout:

The store, Luke's Mercantile, I wanted a different look from the rest of the buildings on the layout. The framework is made from 6x6's and the siding from 2x10's. The siding is painted with white craft paint and after drying was given a coat of A&I; the result a dingy grayish white look. The storefront is made from a print I have and layered 110# paper. For the windows I used some acetate I had which gave me an old-time wave glass look and if you look closely you'll see items on the back wall of inside the store. The porch is made from 8x8's for the joists with 2x10's for the deck. All the wood was grained, paint or chalks with clear alcohol.

The shed is going to be an "open air" fixit shop ranging from automobiles to washing machines. I used the SW template as a guide to build a 5 pole shed with everything given my customary process on the wood. The frame is made from 6x6's, 1x6's for bracing, and 2x10's for the back wall siding and also for some roof supports over the rafters. The metal roof is some older stuff I had from a previous build cut down to fit the shed then weathered some more.

Here's another photo showing off the roofs a little better.

These are the last structures to be built for the layout. Now it's on to a lot of scenery work, details and more details, make up some more cars, and of course run some trains. Thanks for stopping by for a gander and for your great comments and/or suggestions.

You're really making progress when you make such a definitive statement. Scenic ventures add so much to fill in the blanks and add depth.
