Good morning from Wisconsin. The smoke haze has diminished and should remain gone till next week. Air Quality Wednesday was 146, this morning it's 60. We will hit the 90's for the temperature this afternoon.

The grandson's Summer hockey team won its 2nd playoff game. The 2nd win though was a miracle. 3 goals in the last 2 minutes to tie the game and then with 10 seconds on the clock one of the boys scored his 1st goal of the season to win it. 8-7 with the grandson playing well but only with 1 goal but 4 assists including an assist on the last goal. No games until Wednesday next week and possible games Thursday and Friday if they continue winning.

Terry's corrected passport unexpectedly showed up yesterday via UPS but in a USPS priority Expedited envelope! We are happy. We leave for Vancouver on 8/16. She purchased the Whale Watching tour tickets about 15 minutes after the passport arrived. The tour company was super understanding about the passport issue and refunded the original tickets. They were going to hold 2 tickets for us until next Wednesday the 13th.

Enjoy the day

Good morning Rick, ACLTom, Larry, Jerry, Karl, TomO and the rest of the crew that drops in later.

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Rick.  Looking forward to the museum video, it's always great when you get your own private tour guide.

ACLTom, I bet your going to enjoy getting life back to normal.

Larry, have fun at the bench.

Jerry, hope the Dr's appointment goes well.

Karl, glad the smoke is going away.

Tom, glad to hear that the passport issue got solved quickly.

Currently 24c (75f) and partly cloudy, shaping up to be a great day.  Didn't check in yesterday as it was a very busy day and I didn't get home from work till 9PM.  :o  Thought I had today off, but I found out this morning that I have a meeting this afternoon.  >:(  At least I can attend it remotely.  :)

Nothing to report on the model railroad front as work has been keeping me busy.  I did receive the timber pile pier kit from Hunterline that I ordered.  I need that to support one end of the plate girder bridge and one end of the trestle that will used to fill in the gap between the girder bridge and the other side of the canyon.  The bridges are required to connect the staging yard to the rest of the layout.

Have a great day everyone

TomO, we did a whale watch out of Victoria harbor (on Vancouver Island).  We were in a Zodiac rubber boat dressed in (Michelin Man) survival suits.  When a boat spotted a pod of orcas (they talk to each other), they vector the boats in the general direction of the pod, gun the engine and coast (no engines allowed within a significant distance of a whale.)  Our guy timed it PERFECTLY.  We were in the middle of the pod, and a couple of orcas went underneath the boat.

Now the thing I always recommend to anyone visiting Vancouver is to take a cab out to the UBC Anthropology Museum.  it's a bit hard to get to via public transportation, but absolutely worth the journey.

Good morning Tom and the rest of the crew that drops in later.

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Tom and enjoy your day with Pam.

Another sunny day here on Southeastern Ontario. Not sure what today has in store today except I know that there will be a stop to get rid of old paint and spray cans as it is "Hazardous Waste Drop-off Day" here today and there is a drop off spot close to home.  There will be other chores that I'm sure the Mrs will like done.

Last night I finally got to finish spiking down the last staging yard track.  The only track left to lay is the engine storage tracks, which hopefully I'll get done this weekend.  I posted an update on my build thread.

Have a great day everyone.

Dave thank you. I thought I had written a reply yesterday but it seems to have been eaten by the great internet monster! I put the UBC Anthropology Museum on the list of things to do. We have the Botanical gardens on the list as we do that in every 1st city we visit. Also, the hop on/off tour buses. While we've both been here we technically never visited. We have flown in for Vancouver Canucks NHL hockey games versus the Chicago Black Hawks Terry says 4 times. But that was get off the plane, check in, eat, go to the game, go to the hotel and fly out the next morning. We will be there 4 nights!

Good morning from humid Wisconsin. 74f degrees now 88 later. The humidity is 94% but the 10mph breeze and 18mph gusts is making it feel ok on the south deck. The Air Quality is rated as good at 56. We are being threaten with local flood warnings and severe T-storms today with the storms between 3 and 9pm. No smoke haze again today

I passed on at OPS session for today for a work session. 2nd time this week he had to cancel due to illness. So I'm free. I'll be out on the deck until the breezes diminish and the humidity drives me indoors.

Tom thanks for breakfast. I'd like my scrambled eggs tossed let to right and back again please!

Enjoy the day

ACLTom, thanks for the coffee and breakfast and enjoy your day with Pam.

Mike, glad you've recovered from the under layout maneuvers.

TomO, enjoy the deck and the breeze.

Larry, all the best for Mr. B.

Ron, good news on all the track work.

Greg, hope there's no paperwork over the weekend.

Dave, Vancouver is on my list of places to visit some day.

Karl, anything new to report today?

Jerry, all good news from the doctor?

After getting the tires rotated and the gym I drove about 100 north.
I'm in the very northeast corner of Washington, not far from Canada and Idaho.
Found an outstanding campsite.
Plenty of room for Star to play, there's a fast moving stream close by and an abundance of wild raspberries to snack on.
I need to work on a video today and after lunch I'll sit outside and have coffee and cigar while reading my book.

This is from the hike I did in Hells Canyon.

Just out to, empty, mailbox and back. 880 I'm told, breezy makes it still damned hot but not with a capitalized"D"  :o Little, if any, smoke today

Researching Loksound files for my Athearn SDP40F. One video on U-toob shows a none existent sound file#, any others show Lok replacing Tsunami and speaker info but no sound file#. I'll put something in it, no one in my circle would know if right or not. Unless I put an Alco file in it.  :D

The Doll and grand daughter went off shopping. I can expect the folly of that to dominate the evening monologue after the girl leaves  ::)

We had a full moon last night as one of the bucks was grazing.
