Another hot and humid day, not quite as hot, but possibly more humid.  Weather is supposed to break overnight with cooler and DRIER air moving in.  I got nothing done yesterday, maybe I'll make some progress on the belt shafts over the machine tools today.

Good morning folks,

Larry, thanks for opening, coffee, and breakfast.  Enjoy the gondola build.

Dave, good luck with the belt shafts.

Jerry, have fun with those details.

How are the rest of the crew?

It's a cloudy morning with a forecast of 90°F.

Yesterday, I finished the plaster cloth on the leftmost bridge abutment, and it's ready for sculptamold.  I think I'll finish the right abutment plaster cloth before I break out the messy Sculptamold.

I assembled the stock car and sprayed it with an initial coat of black.

A haircut and PT are on the schedule this morning.  I would like to buy paint for the layout, if I feel like it after PT.  I need to spread the lime on the lawn, too.  I am not sure what task will win out.

Have fun,
mike

Good morning, Larry, Dave, Jerry and later arrivals. The lower Merrimack valley is getting little patches of sun through the overcast and the air is damp. I'll be glad to see the front pass through later.

Yesterday my wife and I went down to the Atlantic, which was at best 65F at high tide.  The pleasant beach and dune area by the Hampton River has been taken over by a bridge replacement project but we still got our chill.  Then the first sweet corn of the season for dinner.

Good morning from cool but humid Wisconsin. It was 58f degrees at 5:40 when I decided to walk outside instead of on the machine to nowhere. 98% humidity that with the breeze and cool temperatures it was very nice. High today is maybe 70 per my WeatherChannel app or 73 per theTV personality.

Yesterday was a work session at a friend's layout 45 minutes north. 9 to ?. But around noon yesterday all our phones starting getting the weather notifications! We took off and we though had 3 brief down pours it really wasn't that bad. Get home and Terry has the TV on and of course the weather guy is pontificating about getting in your safe place because the world might be ending. I did find out we dodged by minutes some ready bad stuff including the tornado in Sauk City that we missed by 5 or 10 minutes.

I spent most of the balance of the day at the weathering bench. More today is the plan.

Superman! We didn't go. Terry wasn't feeling great so we will go another time. She felt better around dinner and checked for seats. 2 theaters showing but all sold out in 1 and the other only had single seats available for the 10pm showings.

Be well

Good morning track gang and thanks for the breakfast Larry!

Yesterday my day consisted of mopping and cleaning this old house. Whooped afterwards and made a brief visit to the shop.

Lawn today (maybe) and another hot one. Be safe out there as Mother Nature is crazy!

Good day all!

Grey and cold in the UP this morning. 50s and grey after rain overnight. I think indoor activities will be high on the list today.

We went to some antique stores East of us yesterday and then had dinner out at an old 1900s inn at and old lumber town Nahma Nay'-Mah the food was terrific but we were bothered by flies...they had set us in the bar. The well lubricated clientele were not using their indoor voices. LOL  ::) after dinner it was fun driving around the town before we returned home.

They have an old Baldwin 2-6-2 stuffed and mounted in the park. I guess I didn't do and overall shot

We watched one of the Star Wars prequels on the video. Adventurous but a tick off the "real" franchise films.

I liked the robot picture, Mike. I saw a video list on my U-toob about robot coyotes being placed at an airport in an attempt to run off birds interfering with ops. https://youtube.com/shorts/hKWP7Pz0Ql0?si=iajGDveYLZ9xLaM1

As I was planning work on the kit I brought I looked through the Hobby Lobby stuff I'd been gathering. I told the Doll to be sure when/if we go back over there to tell me NOT to buy any glue. I found two new bottles of Elmers, 2 containers of super glue and one of Aleenes Tacky glue. I also saw 2 or 3 kinds of super glue in my tools down stairs. All I need now is the cutting mat and hobby knife I stashed somewhere.

That's it from here.

Greetings from Chicago!

It is my birthday day month (why settle for a day!). We board an inland cruise ship later from the Navy Pier in Chicago that will take us through all five Great Lakes. Always wanted to do this so now is the time. Yesterday was travel day and a stroll along the river downtown.  The river is an aqua green in color I don't think they need to color it for next St Patrick's day. Very active with boats and people, it was  fun. I broke down this trip and accepted sitting in wheelchairs through airports and I am using the damn oxygen concentrator so I can keep up with my speedy wife. So now I can keep up with Rick and Star! Look out world! So will post pictures as we go. Enjoy the day.

Back Again,

Dave good luck with the belt shafts.

Jerry hope you can get to the bench without sweating to death. Been working
on the gondola this morning.

James funny you mentioned corn; we had our first taste last night for dinner also.
Great tasting fresh from the fields; now just waiting for the beefsteak tomatoes.

Tom O. I think the weather folks live to scare the crap out of people. I hear
Superman is a decent movie.

Mike I usually just pick something and go with it.

Philip the weather is nuts this year; They need to stop messing with it.

Karl flies are annoying at best; especially when you're trying to eat a meal. Nice
loco shot btw.

Jim enjoy your trip. My SIL used to say "celebrate your Birthday all month long" so HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

Afternoon all,

Who has lunch ready. I have smoked turkey cuban with fries. Sweet or unsweet tea on the end.

Happy Birthday Month Jim. Enjoy the cruise.

I was here earlier working on the FOS garage. Will update the thread later this afternoon.

I planned to edge and cut the grass and knew is I got on the forum this morning the yard wouldn't get done. The grass did get edged and cut.

It was 92 with 74% humidity which means it was dang hot.

Hope all are having a great day.

Good morning, folks,

Wishing everyone a fun Friday.  What's on your plate for the weekend?

James, the temperature sounds cold in July.  The corn sounds fantastic.

TomO, glad you dodged the tornado.  Are you still weathering models for $$ or was it your models?

Philip, a man's work is never done. How's the figure painting going?

Karl, thanks for the photo shot.  Funny about bar flies...

Jim, looks like you are having fun in Chicago. Hope you enjoy the cruise.

Larry, nice job of adding details to your scene.

Jerry, been to the beach lately?

TomACL, glad the lawn work is behind you.  I hope the train shed is on your agenda.

Rick, your photos and videos are fun for those of us who don't travel much.

How are the rest of the crew?

It's supposed to be cooler today, with a high of 88°F.  Yesterday I got a haircut and finished my last physical therapy session. The sessions were worth the time.  I spent the afternoon working on the details of the stock car.  Today's task is to spread pelletized lime on the yard..

Have fun,
mike

Morning all,

Breakfast this morning is country fried steak with eggs and hash browns. Sausage link, patties and sliced ham are here to pile on the plate. All manor of drinks on the end.

I got busy and didn't post any updates. I will today since all the yard work was done yesterday.

Glad the tornados didn't get TomO.

Have a safe and happy day everyone.
