Good morning Curt, Karl, ACLTom, Mike, Dave, Larry, Rick and the rest of the crew that drops in later.

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Curt.  Another SW kit? Sweet, enjoy I'm eyeing the trucks he is now offering.

Karl, hope the smoke doesn't get too bad.

ACLTom, twice in one week?  Have fun cutting the grass.

Mike, looking forward to seeing the finished water tower.

Dave, enjoy your day.

Larry, hope you make it to the bench today after the chores are done.

Rick, enjoy your hike today.

Currently 76F and slightly hazy here.  Well I got news yesterday that I'm going back to Canada a lot sooner than originally planned.  Apparently I'm needed to restart a division that has been left to languish for a long time.  I'll know more next week when the boss visits.  I got a couple of weeks left here and I'm not missing the June 7th meetup under any circumstances.  ;D I've been looking forward to it ever since it was set up.

I did make it to the bench last night where I made 6 tiny winy itsy bitty stools for the soda counter and managed to paint the seat section.  I also changed pace and installed ground throws on the layout.  The original plan was to power them but after some reflection, I decided that seeing as the layout is portable, I didn't need the complexity of controlling motorized turnouts.

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning from the heat of Las Vegas. 76f degrees now and 106+ later. Dry heat my backside, it's hot and not fun if the car is left in a parking space without a roof.

The brother's hip surgery the doctor said went well! They exercised him quite a bit yesterday starting 3 hours after the surgery. I was in on the afternoon sessions so I know what is expected of me when the PT is not visiting.

The doctor said he didn't trust my brother to follow orders yesterday so they kept him overnight. I think I'm happy for that. I was told to come to the clinic at 11am as he will be fed and exercised twice by then. Sounds like the way Terry handled her horses in the past. He was feeling pretty good when I left at 8pm last night, a long day for both of us! He handles pain pretty so was on Ibuprofen only! They served decent food at the clinic yesterday. But I wanted a sandwich when I got home last night. I gobbled together some food but if I'm here for a few more days I need something in the refrigerator. My brother and his g/f eat out a lot but I'll head to a grocery I saw nearby.

His pool was re-filled by a tanker truck yesterday! The pulley assist system is in place. I checked water temperature in the pool just dipping my feet, not swimmable for me. Later talking to the g/f she told me how to check the temperature on the computer, it was 64f degrees last night, 66 this morning. I have the pool heater on. It should warm up pretty good today with the sun. I have opened the sun shade sails to let the sun in! What I learned is he will be visited by a PT in the morning and later in the afternoon for 2 weeks for 90 minute sessions. They want him moving and walking in the pool at least 2 other times in the day for 30 minutes each. Walk, walk and more walking. After a doctor visit Tuesday they will add light weight lifting to his routine.

Terry and the brother's g/f will be back tomorrow morning. Her last medical in Scottsdale is at 4pm today.

Terry purchased some Circe tickets for Sunday night. Not sure what show and while I'm not a huge fan the shows are always interesting. She did say she wants to play some slots after. Neither of us have been in a casino and played since 1/2023. Neither of us miss it. I stopped playing cards at the Wisconsin casinos around 1995. We went just about every Friday night and Sunday morning after the son left in 2006. Before that just Friday night late 10pm to 2am. Always looked forward to it.

Enjoy your day

Morning all,

Breakfast is ready. This morning I'm serving a three cheese omelette, hash browns, sausage links and whole wheat toast. I also have fruit for those cutting back. Drinks and jelly (mint and guava) on the end. No need to leave a tip.  8)

No modeling or bench time for me today as I'm spending it with Pam. She's getting her hair done and I told her I'd do whatever she wanted today.

I woke up this morning to thunder, lightning and heavy rain.

Have a safe, happy and healthy day everyone.

Tom

Good morning all and thanks for the breakfast Tom.
Looks like it is going to be a premier weather day for Northern Colorado. 57 at my house now going for a high of 77. Lots of catching up with outdoor work as the recent deluge of rain here has left everything growing strong. A couple of hours on the weed wacker while my wife drives around on the riding mower should help things out. We have about 3 acres around our house we like to keep trimmed up and looking good. The rest of the land, about 13 more acres we leave to the horses to keep it trimmed. Then the fenced in back yard isn't really small and we use a push mower for that so as to not introduce more weeds from the rider. The backyard is an uphill strugle for sure. We expanded it more than doubling it's size a couple of years ago. Now half is nice soft green grass but the other half is still mainly native weeds. At some point we will get those weeds gone and grass will take its place, probably next season before that chore gets done totally. The fun of land ownership!!
Hope everyone has a banner day!!

Good Morning All,

Thanks for opening and breakfast Tom. Pretty roses. Enjoy your day with Pam.

As Tom mentioned severe thunderstorms came through about 0515 at my house. The rain was almost heavy enough to be tropical. Speaking of, Hurricane season starts tomorrow and runs thru 30 November. :'(

Yesterday I worked on the roof trusses but they are very delicate so today I plan on adding additional bracing to try to stiffen them. I also sprayed a stake truck and a set of miners with clear flat so they can be "dirtied up".

Dale it sounds like you have a very nice  area around your home. We were in Durango last year.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Chill in MI, 40s that may go to 60s, BUT the SUN is shining and will be all day.  I've not noticed it much but the news and weather folk are ranting about Canadian Wildfire SMOKE causing air quality issues.  8)

Little new here, slept ok with the new meds but the bs is  :o wild this morning.

Well, time to feed the cats.

Later!

Good morning everyone.

Mitchell, OR weather: Increasing clouds, with a high near 74.

ACLTom, thanks for the coffee and breakfast.
Roses are looking good and enjoy your day with Pam.

Karl, good news on the sleeping and interesting news on the BS.

Curt, sounds like good progress at the bench.

Dale, enjoy the yard work.

Jerry, good news from the bench.

TomO, good news on your brother's surgery.

Ron, I'm sure you'll miss the weather but I'm sure you're happy to be going home.

Larry, Dave, Mike, Philip, Greg and everyone else looking in, hope you are all well.

Star and I did the 4 miles and 800' of EG to get to the base of Steins Pillar.
Headed further east and found a 5 star camping spot.
360 degree views, quiet and a fire ring with lots of split wood left behind by a nice person.
I'll stay here through the weekend.
Got some house cleaning to do and later a fire will be made and a cigar with my afternoon coffee will be enjoyed.

Another picture of my hike at Smith Rock SP showing how steep this hike was.

Cool and wet in SE NH, looks like rain all day.  So Scotch Club will probably be washed out.  I think today's challenge will be to see if I can affix small magnets to affix a removable wall.  More experimentation than modeling, I think...

Good morning from hot Las Vegas! 87f degrees at 5:47am going to either 106 or 110 depending on the weather app I look at! Either way, it's hot!

The wife should be here around noon.

No problems from the patient and he slept well last night! We talked with the doctor Friday at discharge about traveling back to Maui. Not for at least 4 weeks and prefers 8 was the suggestion. The other issue is medical care. The brother says especially since the Lahaina fires it has gone further downhill with many providers and techs leaving the island. Many of the EMS lost homes too and have not returned to work!

Started reading some of my haul from The Original whistle Stop last week. I can watch the brother walk in the pool reading from the patio because he is hooked to a harness system. The pool is chilly at 70 but I have left the sail cloth shades open and it should be higher 70's water temp today when the sun appears.

7 last night I found my brothers golf simulator. Took me a couple hours of fiddling around to get it going again. Needed a few re-boots on the computer system and adjusting the sensors but it's working again. His is the same as mine but he has the newest version. I will hit balls today ( 11 days since I last hit one) but the brother absolutely cannot until the doctor clears him.

I have some structure design work to finalize and get approvals on but I'm not interested in doing that yet. I am working on 2 separate paper mills for friends. One is 32' long and anywhere from 12" to 26" deep. It's based in the PNW of 1965  The other is a modern fully intergrated mill in 48" x 144" worked from both sides.

Be well
TomO

I thought the world was ending around 6:00 AM. We were awakened by lightning strikes, very loud thunder and torrential rain all around the house that lasted about 15 minutes. Turns out a nasty from moved thru and now just just some scattered light showers that will be over in an hour or so.

Hopefully a good rest of the day and a fun play at Winter Park Playhouse this evening. Y'all have a fun day.....
