Good morning folks,

Rick, thanks for opening.  Hope your hike was a good one.

Karl, hope your PT goes well.

Larry, thanks for the coffee and breakfast.  Good luck with the glasses adjustment.

TomACL, good luck at the doctor's office.  Hope you enjoy your time with family.

Jerry, wishing you another great day at the beach.

Dave, good luck with the drive belts.  Sounds tedious.

TomO, the OPS session sounds like a lot of fun.  Lunch sounds good, too.

Philip, it's fortunate that your friend wasn't hurt worse than it is.  The 3D quest is a tough one.  I think you have to be young or use it every day.  Good luck with the crown $$$$.

Ron, congrats on all the track work.  I'm looking forward to your update.

How is the rest of the crew?

It's another overcast day with a high forecast of 76°F.  That's so weird for AUGUST!

Work continues upstairs.  I'll add more scenery today, moving toward planting the depot, water tank, and maintenance shed.  I need to paint the track, too.  I may add another coat of light blue to the lodge interior.  Always something.

Have fun,
mike

PT went well. Positive in that the tech has an idea whatever I have  treatable with therapy and some exercises to do. Kind of stretched a bit and feeling it tonight, ~midnight going 3 times a week starting tomorrow at :o  about noon so may miss being here.  BTW restrictions include stay off the mower for at least 2 weeks, oh pshaw...Gramma used to say. ::)

Found this online, speaking of Canadian fires:

The power company in our UP does have considerable problems with Ospreys nesting on their poles and actually build special nesting poles to keep them away from their lines. Last week while we were up there we had an outage and asked the company. They said they had shut down briefly to relocate an osprey.

That's it from me. Word is maybe less smoke for a few days but Florida weather returns. [/font]

Morning Fellers,

The coffee, OJ, and the usual beverages are set to go. Breakfast is a western omelet, hot sauce is on the counter if you want a little more pep-in-your-step, hash browns on the side.

What's do'in today.

It's a sunny 65 with a high of 83 with rain sometime today in New York. After spending most of the day running around doing various errands today is going to be a rest day for me. Plans? take it as it comes.

Have a great day!! Be well and stay safe.

Morning all,

Thanks for breakfast Larry, just a little hot sauce to spice things up.

Heavy, heavy rain late yesterday afternoon. I got just over 3" in 3 hours. We were driving back from the airport and the rain was so bad we were all driving about 10mph. Two car lengths of visibility. Lots of light and sound to go with all the rain.

Today, we'll visit with our nephew Chris and go out to eat later.

Probably no thread update today.

Have a great day everyone.

Cloudy and 67, heading to 78, with acceptable humidity.  Should stay this way through the weekend, but turn nasty on Monday.

I got the belts from the machine shafts to the main drive shaft installed, but it was frustrating!  For some reason, the medium viscosity CA isn't sticking very well at all.  I went out and bought newer better CA, in case my dollar store stuff was bad, but that didn't make a difference.  Today I'll test fit the various tools, and think about what (if anything) I want to install in the space between the tools.  Once the tools are glued in place and the belts installed, that area will be impossible to access.

Morning everyone

Larry thanks for the coffee & breakfast.

Tom have a nice day with the nephew.

Dave what kind of material are using for the belts??

Weather in South Jersey cloudy/73.  Later on 76.
It won't be a beach day today with all the clouds.
Maybe a little bench time later in the day!

Everyone have a great day!!  :)

Good morning everyone.

Spokane weather: A 40 percent chance of showers, mainly between 8am and 5pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 78.

Larry, thanks for the coffee and breakfast and enjoy your rest day.

Dave, hope you get the glue issue figured out.

ACLTom, have fun with your nephew today.

Karl, good news on the PT.
Those darn birds and their fish.  ;)

Greg, hope you get out of the poop soon.  ;D

Mike, the scenery you started looks very good.

Ron, good news on the layout progress and I'll watch for an update.

Philip, hope your friend is feeling better and those 3D programs can get very complex.

TomO, how was the ops?

Jerry, fun at the beach?

Curt, hope you're having fun traveling.

Star and I had a great hike yesterday.
13 miles and 2,733' EG to the top of Mount Spokane.
Just missed seeing a moose.
Munched on wild raspberries and huckleberries along the way.
Only thing planned for today so far is to visit downtown Spokane.

A view from Mount Spokane.

Jerry, I found some nice leather-brown construction paper.  Others have used Tyvek, but that stuff is the wrong color, and there's no way I could paint the belts in position.

Good morning folks,

Larry, thanks for opening, coffee, and the omelet. Wishing you a fun and restful day.

TomACL, can you believe all this rain?  Enjoy your time with family.

Dave, congrats on the belt installation.  I had a similar issue with bad CA.  It is amazing how it works when it works.

Jerry, hope you have fun at the bench.

Rick, congratulations on the climb and scoring fresh fruit on the way.

How is the rest of the crew?

It's another overcast, rainy day, but the high is only 81°F.

Thanks for the compliments on the scenery.  I'm trying.  Today, I'll work on the layout, primarily focusing on track work.

Have fun,
mike

Good morning Larry, ACLTom, Dave, Jerry, Rick, MIke and the rest of the crew that drops in later.

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Larry, enjoy your rest day.

Karl, PT = legalized torture.  ;D  Glad it is working for you.

ACLTom, have fun with your nephew today.

Dave, sounds like you got the hard part out of the way. In the past I have used vellum to make belts.

Jerry, hope you make great progress at the bench.

Rick, enjoy sightseeing in Spokane.

Mike, have fun worming on the layout.

Currently 20c (68f) and partly cloudy here, shaping up to be another great day.  While I made it down stairs last night, I got distracted and made some modifications to my FDM 3D printer.  I changed out the control panel installed an internal light bar and added the AMS holder to the top of the printer, this allows me to open the top when printing PLA.  Not sure what tonight's plans are.

Have a great day everyone.

Back Again,

Rick that's quite the view; glad the hike was enjoyable.

Tom enjoy your time with family.

Dave I use Tyvek for the belts and paint them before I install them; works for me.

Mike sounds like your progressing nicely on your layout; I'll check it out next.

Jerry how's the repair work coming on the diorama?

Ron we all get distracted every once in awhile.

I think Jerry started something recently. I accidentally mishandled my Ford TT truck and broke the front axle, knocked off 2 tires, broke one of the bed sides, and a headlight. Fortunately I was able to reglue and fix everything so it's "no worse for wear". Also working on the layout again.

That's all I got.

Dave I used the tyvek and for coloring you just take brown shoe polish the paste not liquid and put in on a cloth and just run the tyvek between it they come out perfect.

Now you tell me!   :) ;D :D  One problem with the paper belts is avoiding creases.

Good morning everyone.

Spokane suburbs weather: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 2pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 74.

Coffee, sodas and OJ are ready.

Crispy bacon, egg and cheese on an everything bagel is today's breakfast.

Dave, I saw you made some progress glueing the belts.

Larry, glad you were able to fix the truck.

Ron, did you print anything after making the changes?

Mike, any track work progress?

Jerry, any bench time yesterday.

ACLTom, was yesterday the start of a new league season and how did you do?

Curt, hope you're having fun on the road.

TomO, how was ops?

Karl, you been spending any time on the layout?

Philip, still hot and humid there?

Walked around Spokane some but wasn't very impressed.
There's a railroad museum I want to visit today.

Another view from my hike up to Mount Spokane.
