Just so everyone knows the shakes have nothing done to them yet.  That is the way the sheets come.
Weathering will take place after all the walls are done.

The bottom half is Silverwood two coats.  Then mineral spirits let dry till a sheen appears then white craft paint.  Wait about 30 seconds then with scotch tape peel the board.
It's actually the way Chuck Doan does his.

The one thing I found is that the craft paint doesn't peel as good as the old Polly Scale.  So you have to work with it a bit more.
